Not only that, but you can get help at the airport if you get stranded. Keep reading to learn when you qualify for AJet compensation and what you need to do to get it.

Your Passenger Rights with AJet
Here’s what you need to know:
- Delayed flights - You could be eligible for compensation if a flight delay causes you to arrive 3 or more hours late.
- Cancelled flights - You may also be eligible for compensation if your flight is cancelled by the airline with less than 14 days notice. Also, you can choose to get a flight refund or a rebooking.
- Denied Boarding: If AJet oversells your flight and you’re refused boarding, you’re also owed compensation.
- Missed connections: In cases where an AJet flight disruption causes you to miss a connecting flight on the same booking, you may be entitled to compensation.
AJet Compensation Payout Amounts
AJet passengers are eligible to claim compensation under EU261 and UK261 on flights that depart from an EU or UK airport.
Passengers can claim up to €600 (£520), but not every flight is eligible for this maximum amount. Ultimately, your compensation is based on flight distance:
- Flights below 1,500km - Maximum of €250 (£220)
- Flights from 1,500km to 3,500km - Maximum of €400 (£350)
- Flights over 3,500km - Maximum of €600 (£520)
AJet Cancelled and Delayed Flight Compensation
Cancelled and delayed flights are subject to the same compensation schedule listed above. What you receive for flight delays depends on the delay time and flight distance for delays. For cancellations, your payout amount depends on when your flight was cancelled and the distance.
In addition to cash payouts, AJet must also help you if you’re stuck at the airport.
- For 2 hour delays, you can get meals, refreshments and free access to communication.
- For 5 hour delays, you have the option to get a refund or a rebooking.
- If you have an overnight delay, you can get hotel lodging, plus transportation there and back to the airport.
Denied Boarding and Missed Connecting Flights with AJet
As long as you’re departing from an EU or UK airport, you are also protected against denied boarding incidents caused by overbooking. The compensation you get is the same as it is for delays and cancellations.
If you miss a connecting flight, you can get compensated by AJet as long as it is part of the same booking. Again, compensation is based on your arrival time at your destination airport.

When You Won’t Get Paid by AJet
All the compensation rules and regulations we’ve discussed so far are only valid IF the airline could have avoided or prevented the situation that caused the flight disruption. So if your flight was affected by any of the following situations, you will not be able to get compensated by AJet.
- Bad weather like severe storms, fog, and blizzards.
- Security issues such as terrorist threats at the airport.
- Strikes by non-airline staff, including baggage personnel and air traffic control.
These are known as extraordinary circumstances.
