During my visit in Madrid, I called the BA to inquire only about changing my flight departure back from Seville instead of Madrid that was scheduled for April 7, 2024 at 13:30 pm and I spoke with a nice fellow named George who said he was in Indian. He told me it would cost $900 and I said that the cost was too high so I would leave my ticket as it was and not to make any changes and he said ok. I felt that he may have been confused so I called BA right back to confirm that he did not make any changes and this was confirmed by another agent. I have a record of these calls on my friend cell who was also present with me as I had not purchased a sim card yet. My brother was also present during this call and I can provide legal affidavit's to verify this is true. On April 7, 2024 I arrived at the Madrid airport at approximately 1030 am for my flight. I was not able to check-in the night before or that early morning so I went to the appropriate line-up at Iberia airlines. The customer service said I was not in the system and that I should go to the customer service kiosk for BA, which is what I did. The agent at this kiosk said I was not in the system and that she too could not help me (both of these agents were rude and very unhelpful to me). I asked what my options were and she said to purchase the same ticket that I had already had booked and that it was my ONLY option. She then told me the cost would be over 3000 Euros and that this was my only option. As I have to be at work today, April 8, 2024 I gave her my credit card, which has been charged $5,288.86. When I went back to check - in I had the same agent and he said that Iberia can do nothing it was a BA matter and they can not help me and that I would have to call BA. When I arrived in London I went directly to the BA desk and spoke with Josh Geoffrey the CS lead and he took the info down and entered into the computer and called someone and said he could not help me at all. He gave me the "We're here to help" card and brochure and said I could call the number on the card. This morning I called and spoke to Hersh in Indian and he said he could not help me and he was very rude and said all complaints must be entered on-line, I then called and spoke to Ellie another CS agent and she confirmed this. Josh did say that there was a partial cancellation and gave me a print out, I verified why on earth would I have agreed to this and I told him about the call in Indian he said that he could not explain this either and we both agreed it was very strange. I said in no way did I change my flight as how would I have gotten home and why would I wish to go through this event? This experience with BA and Iberia have been my worst nightmare and I am very upset and angry. Not only for the extra cost of having to re-purchase my ticket for the noted money about but, also being told by a customer service lead at Heathrow airport to call and then told by the 2 agents that they can not help at all is unprofessional I ask the question why would Josh have given me this number to call if no one could help? The emotional stress has been exhausting for me. Not to mention I did not even receive an upgrade for a one way flight at the cost of $5,288.86. Ironically when I was at the CS desk in Heathrow there were several other people who had issues with BA and said this is the first time that over 5 countries can agree that BA has poor customer service. I can provide all receipts and verification of the chain of these events. I sincerely hope that this matter will be resolved and that I will receive a reimbursement for the noted monies that I am out of. I do hope that I don't need to have my lawyer involved in this matter and that the appropriate refund will be made to me shortly.
