Work Experience

She has worked extensively in broadcasting with experience at Discovery Network and Cumulous Broadcasting as Creative Director, and her writing has been recognized by the Toronto Sun, the Sun UK and US, and The New York Times. Early in her career, she wrote dance criticism as an intern at the Village Voice in New York and as a stringer for the San Francisco Chronicle. 

Joanna holds a BA from the University of California, Berkeley.

Interests and Passions

Joanna has a profound love of history, dogs, painting, and audiobook narration. To date, she has recorded over 100 audiobooks and has been heard across the U.S. and globally in branding campaigns for Volvo, Window World, Stena, the Golf Channel, Adam & Eve, NBC Universal, and HGTV. In her spare time, she enjoys exploring, creating collage art, and documenting the history of the Acadians in Cape Breton. She lives with her husband and 4 dogs in rural Nova Scotia.
