Qatar Airways Compensation for Flight Delays, Cancellations & Refund

The flight was finally cancelled after 9 hours of waiting for the final decision of the airport authorities.

Was supposed to land in Sydney at 7pm on Thursday and instead arrived on Saturday at 7am

Operational problems I arrived after 2pm The airline sent a message at 13:36pm Sandwich roll and water was provided at 6pm I could not attend my mum's tombstone unveiling as planned.I had nowhere to rest and sleep since I was tired to proceed with my journey to Zimbabwe.I slept at the airport I had no funds to buy food since I am a student. I was supposed to meet my brother in South Africa and travel with them to Zimbabwe using his car.I had to ask them to book a bus to Zimbabwe for me instead.

Late boarding from Dublin. Take off delayed by more than 3 hrs. Lost connection flight because we had arrived late as repercussion off delayed take off. Reached final destination 1 day later than expected arrival date. The delay also caused transportation at the final destination as the transportation fee was non refundable and limited to that day

My first flight from LHR was delayed. I arrived at the gate for my connecting flight in DOH while others were still boarding, but was told I was not allowed to board.

Flight was delayed for more than 24 hours in Doha. Airline kept me in a lounge all this while though other nationalities were taken to hotels outside the Airport, without a proper place to sleep, although food vouchers were provided. I reached Gatwick Airport the following day, I missed day 1 of the meeting I had travelled for in Brighton.

I was travelling with my wife to Dar es Salaam for a wedding. Please see the flight details below - both flights were Qatar Airways: Flight 1: LHR to Doha (Date: 14 June 2023, Time of flight: 21.55, duration 6h 45, arrival at Doha 06:40) Flight 2 (connecting flight): Doha to Dar es Salaam. (Date: 15 June 2023, Time of flight: 07:45, arrival at Dar es Salaam 13:45). Flight 1 (scheduled for 21.55) was delayed by approximately an hour, and took off at around 23.00. During the flight (prior to take off) we were extremely stressed as we knew we would be tight for the connecting flight. So we asked cabin crew if we could sit at the front or more forward so we could quickly leave the plane for the connecting flight, but they simply said this was not possible. We landed at Doha at approximately 07:20. We rushed out of the plane to try to board on to the next flight but a Qatar Airways representative provided us with a boarding passe for alternative flight to Entebbe airport and did not explain the cause of the delay. The new flights we were given were: Qatar Airways flight from Doha to Entebbe (EBB) airport (Date: 15 June 2023, Time: 08:35, Duration: 5h 40, arrival at Entebbe 14:15). The next flight we were given was Uganda Airlines flight from Entebbe (EBB) to Dar es Salaam (Date: 15 June 2023, Time: 17:20, Duration: 1h 50, arrival at Dar es Salaam 19:10). I would like to point out that the Qatar representative only gave the boarding pass for the Doha to Entebbe flight (Qatar Airways), but not the Entebbe to Dar es Salaam flight, but just the details for this flight with the cost etc. The Qatar to Entebbe flight was also delayed by 1.5 hours and took off at 10.03. We received no communication from the cabin crew or pilot on the plane as to why there was a 90 minute delay! Upon asking the cabin crew they just said we would be taking off shortly. We arrived at Entebbe at 15:16, an hour late. We then took the second flight and arrived at Dar es Salaam at 19:10. We arrived at Dar es Salaam over 5 hours later than we were supposed to based on our original flights that we paid for, and had to take 3 flights instead of 2. Due to this delay, we missed a wedding gathering that was taking place in Dar es Salaam on 15 June at 5 pm. It also cause major jet lag as we did not manage to sleep much on the planes as a result of anxiety from the delays. It also meant that the next day in Dar es Salaam was more of a recovery and rest day, so we were unable to do some planned activities such as shopping and meeting some friends. I would also like to point out that there was no one from Qatar Airways to help us in Entebbe when we arrived at the airport. We were worried about our luggage and whether this was going to be transferred to Uganda Airlines (we had two checked in suitcases). We had to find a Uganda airlines representative and liaise with them ourselves to get boarding passes for the flight and get our luggage transferred! This was the first time we flew with Qatar Airways and we had high expectations. It is a shame that this was a terrible, tiring, and stressful experience for both of us.

Hi I bought a non - direct ticket from Vienna to Shiraz. (Vienna - Doh 25 August 2022 , time 16.25 , Flight No: 184 Doh - Shiraz , time : 01:55 , Flight No : 476 ) But before 9 days the flight , my ticket was canceled by qatar airways , without giving any reason. Also , my Visa was only valid until 30 August. Finally , qatar airways gave me an alternative ticket one day earlier , but l had missed my hotel and more importantly , I couldn't go to my niece's Concert . And had to return one day earlier. And also I was under a lot of stress , and a few days , l had a severe migraine . Faithfully yours Roya

Flight from Heathrow was delayed and so missed connection to Johannesburg Stop over was in Doha Qatar

I was using the temporary travel documents but they do not allow me go go, but I did pass and got the stamp in their imigration

boarding pases were issued, we had to wait for a very long time at the airport, and then they informed that the flight was cancelled. They offered us hotel and the next flight in 2 days, but I refused.

The flight was delayed 3+ hours.

I had a ticket for the flight Frankfurt to Brisbane over Doha. Departure in FRA: 29/6/22 10:25 Planned Arrival in BNE: 30/7/22 20:35 Check-in was denied at 10:15 despite me waiting in check-in line for 2 hours. I was told that they would not accept any luggage and passengers anymore. The flight was re-booked to the next day: Departure in FRA 30/6/22 10:25 Arrival in BNE: 1/7/22 16:20 The total delay was 19 hours and 45 minutes. Qatar Airways did not offer to cover hotel cost nor meal allowances. I had to pay hotel cost by myself. On top of this my luggage was not there at arrival in BNE. It took 10 days to receive it, which was very inconvenient. I had to drive to BNE airport to pick it up, which means I had to pay for transport and parking by myself.

Other passengers arrived late and we left an hour later than scheduled. We missed our connecting flight in Doha.

The airline made myself and my son travel to Brussels as they had overbooked the flight. We had to pay for ourselves to go to Brussels and no assistance was offered.

I travelled with my wife and son to Bangkok on two different bookings. My flight from Amsterdam to Doha got cancelled first. I was told that the flight was cancelled, but when I said that my wife and son were flying, they said that the flight was overbooked. In the end all of us had their flight cancelled and we had to go to Brussels instead at our own costs and I had to miss work in order to get there.

Due to a security staff strike at Frankfurt Airport, my flight to Abu Dhabi was cancelled. The company offered me an alternative 24h later from the original schedule, which I accepted. However, the company refused to cover my accommodation and food expenses for the extra day that I had to spend in Frankfurt. Here, I claim a refund of these expenses.

Flight was delayed by more than 3 hours. Original time of flight 14:55. Delayed to 18:15. I was informed about the delay by text message, hence I, with my elderly dad,arrived at the airport 2.5 hours before the rescheduled time of departure. Upon arrival at the airport we found out that the check in desks had closed already!! We waited around 10 minutes next to check in counters and then went to the information desk. They informed us that we can not board the plane now. Then they arranged another flight which was leaving more than 6 hours after the original flight (21:30). It was extremely stressful situation for me and especially my dad who is more than 85 years of age and a heart patient.

We booked flights for 2 passengers, Adrian Slade and Susan Slade to 8 weeks earlier through Travelbag, sold as Qatar QR 5942 14:05 on 2 June 2022, we received documentation from Qatar to this effect and was able to see the flights on their online portal. On 30 May we received email stating Passenger Detail Change, it was in fact changing the flight to British Airways BA2033 departing 14:05 on 2 June 2022 to Doha. (Subsequently we discovered Qatar have never flown a 14:05 flight to Doha on any days from Gatwick) so flight mis-represented and mis-sold by Qatar) At 16:50 on 31 May we received an email from British Airways and text message stating flight cancelled and no explanation, tried to contact Qatar but nothing. Contacted Travelbag(travel agent) 9:00 am 1 June 2022, they could do nothing as all the Qatar flights still showing open, when really they were not, but confirmed the BA flight was shown as cancelled, . After discussions we booked and paid for Emirates flight from Heathrow that would still meet the arrival and departure time for the resort booked in Maldives, at a cost of £1842.30, Travelbag were going to try and cancel the Qatar flights and claim refund and then refund us the original Qatar flight costs of £1626. Around 13:30 on 1 June 2022 less than 24 hours before Qatar QR 5942/BA2023 was originally due to depart a lady from Qatar called my mobile phone to say they had booked us onto a Qatar flight QR 016 from Heathrow departing 2 June, 21:40 via Doha to Male, we also received an email at 13:56 with flight details. I advised her we had tried to contact them and had requested cancelation through Travelbag. I also said that transferring flights in this manner was unacceptable and the flights they proposed meant we would not be able to get to our Hotel resort in Maldives. I said they should have contacted us and notified Travelbag as well and asked what was suitable first, but instead they had left us in limbo, so we had no choice but to book other flights or loose our holiday. I also pointed out that I have a serious heart condition and suffer angina and am registered disabled, and on return additional travelling from Gatwick to Heathrow to collect our car was not an option in my condition. The above resulted in us having to drive to Heathrow with additional parking costs of £179.60, we would have left our car at a friends near Gatwick if we had flown on the original flights. Travelbag informed me yesterday that Qatar had finally agreed to refund the £1626 for the original flights and that should be in our Barclaycard account by the end of this week. We have also noted that both Qatar Airways and British Airways have both removed any history of the flights mentioned above from their online portals the we would log into to check the flights, I wonder why they have done that! However we have documentary evidence in emails from both of them for all of this. So in summary we had to purchase flights at an additional cost of £216.30 and additional unplanned parking costs of £179.60, and we are still waiting to receive a refund for £1626 for the cost of the original Qatar flights. We also had to make re-arrangements to enable use to depart from Heathrow as we live in Devon, UK. This whole matter has been extremely stressful and we consider that Qatar deliberately hid the fact that flights we never going to be on a Qatar between Gatwick and Doha, effectively mis-selling flights. Due to the lack of customer service from both Qatar and BA and the poor manner they treated us we expect full financial recompense for flights and all additional costs and and any penalties that can be imposed upon them.

Flights were delayed leaving from Manchester therefore we missed out connecting flight. Our connection wait time went from 1hr 20mins to 7hrs 40mins And we arrived the next day. So we missed out on the beginning of our trip. We were going on pilgrimage. we were travelling with our children, no information provided just told at Doha that they will arrange a different connecting flight. We were provided with food vouchers. Very disappointed with the service

1st flight from Manchester airport was delayed which impacted the connected flight , as the 1st flights delay directly caused us to miss the connecting flight , as the 2nd flight was boarding , the 1st flight had still not even landed.

3 hours delayed at Dublin airport on 11th March 2022. Missed connecting flight and subsequent transfer flight from Male international airport to the island. On honeymoon so we missed 8 hours of our first day, arriving after 7pm meaning the first day had gone.

Flight delayed from Manchester to Doha delayed by 2 hours whi Ch made us miss our connecting flight to Jeddah. Next flight to Jeddah full booked so we flew to madinah with a 3hour wait and then flew to Jeddah. Delay of over 14 hours

This form isn't very clear. My flight from LHR to Doha was delayed by 35 minutes. I missed my connecting flight to Entebbe as a result. The next available flight was not until the 10th. I was stuck in Doha for over 30 hours. I also lost two days at the hotel I'd paid for in Uganda. I spent a night in the airport because Qatar said it was too late to provide a room. They were not interested in providing assistance. The airline gave an allowance for food after I pressed them about it. They provided a hotel room for the second night. The airline staff were obstructive and unhelpful.
