Your Rights as a Discover Airlines Passenger
Thanks to EU Regulation EU 261/2004, you’re entitled to certain protections as an airline passenger. The following table will give you a quick way to see what you might receive when you have delays or other disruptions.

Discover Flight Delays
If you ever have a delayed flight with Discover Airlines, you could get financial compensation if your flight arrives 3+ hours late at your final destination.How much you end up getting depends on the travel distance.
If the delay causes you to wait at the airport for 2 hours or more, then Discover will give you:
- Free access to communication via phone, FAX, emails and
- Written explanation of your passenger rights and
- Meals, refreshment, hotel accommodation, and
- Transport to and from hotel if a shuttle is not available
If you’re delayed for 5 hours or more, then you’re entitled to a choice: A full ticket refund or a rebooking.
If your travel plans are pointless because of the delay, then Discover must also give you a return ticket to your initial airport.
Discover Airlines Cancellations
If you’re notified of a flight cancellation 14 days or more before departure, you will get to choose between an alternate flight or a full ticket refund.
If you’re notified closer to your flight, then you will also be given a rebooking or a refund, but you are also eligible for cash compensation up to €600 (£520). Just like flight delays, the amount of cash you receive is decided by the flight distance.

Compensation for Missed Connections
If you miss your connection, you will be given an alternate flight or a refund. You can also get cash compensation if both flights were on the same Discover Airlines booking. So, for example, if the first leg of your flight was delayed or cancelled because of something within the airline’s control, and you miss your connecting flight as a result, then you are eligible for cash compensation.
Discover Airlines Denied Boarding
If Discover Airlines overbooks a flight and you’re involuntarily denied boarding, then you could get:
- A full ticket refund or
- An alternate flight and
- Care and assistance and
- Up to €600 (£520)
When You Won’t Be Compensated
There will be occasions when Air Greenland won’t have to pay you cash compensation. These situations, known as extraordinary circumstances, are times when the airline cancels or delays a flight for reasons entirely beyond their control like civil unrest or severe weather events.

How Do You File a Discover Airlines Claim for Compensation?
To file a compensation claim with the airline, just visit their official site, find their email address, and collect all your flight-related documents. Then, you simply draft a letter explaining why you are owed compensation.
Include plenty of information including copies of your:
- Receipts for out-of-pocket expenses
- Ticket receipts
- Booking confirmation documents
- Boarding pass
