Warsaw Chopin Airport has one of the lowest risks in the world of passengers missing a connection this summer. It ranked second in AirAdvisor's Summer Connection Risk Index 2026, which measures how likely passengers are to miss a connecting flight because of delays and tight transfer windows.
To mark the result, AirAdvisor's PR lead, Aleksandra Bulenda, visited the airport this week and presented a certificate to Piotr Rudzki, Acting Director of Warsaw Chopin Airport's Communications Bureau, recognising Chopin's second-place ranking.
The conversation went well beyond the numbers. Aleksandra and the Chopin team talked about what the result means for the region.
Chopin was the only Central and Eastern European airport to place among the lowest-risk hubs in the ranking, so its result is a strong sign for the region and proof that a major CEE hub can match much larger Western European airports on this metric.
Being the 2nd best airport in the world for low connection risk is impressive, especially given the high passenger volumes Chopin has handled recently. Keeping connection risk low while traffic increases is no small feat, and it is exactly what the index rewards.
Piotr Rudzki said the airport's goal is to make sure it never becomes a place travellers feel they simply have to "get through". Their focus is on making a difficult or stressful flight a little easier, which is the same thing AirAdvisor works towards for every passenger.
For anyone booking a summer trip through Warsaw, remember: A tight connection here is less likely to go wrong than at most major hubs, and that peace of mind is worth as much as any timetable.
