Last year, FlyDubai carried 13.8 million passengers according to Skytrax. Out of this number, it’s a safe bet that not all of them had a positive experience. All airlines run into problems at some point whether that’s poor customer service, flight interruptions, or mishandled baggage.

When flight problems occur, it’s worth sending a complaint. Plus, depending on your circumstances you might get something back from the airline to make up for the bad experience. In this article, we’ll give you the contact information for FlyDubai and a few tips that will help you make the most of your complaint.

About Your Passenger Rights

While some complaints might only be answered with a small discount, an apology, or a voucher, other situations can lead to compensation. Even though FlyDubai isn’t located in Europe, they are still subject to the laws of regions where they fly.

As such, flights from Europe are protected by the rules of EU261 regulations. For you as a passenger, this means that flight delays, cancellations, denied boarding from overbooking, and missed connections could all be eligible for cash compensation up to €600. As you can see, some complaints are definitely worth your time.

Before you contact the airline, you can quickly check to see if your flight is eligible in our free compensation calculator.

Tips for Contacting FlyDubai by Phone

  1. Have all your flight information close by. Customer service will ask for basic information about your flight like the booking reference number and other details.
  2. Be ready to wait. Sometimes you can be on hold for a very long time, especially during widespread issues that affect thousands of fellow passengers.
  3. Phone local numbers when possible as these may have shorter wait times with lower fees.

FlyDubai Customer Service Contact Form

FlyDubai’s customer service contact form is a reliable alternative to emails, especially if you aren’t in one of the locations where an email address is provided. If you are contacting the airline to complain about baggage mishandling or flight disruptions, this is certainly the optimal choice, although there are many topics to choose from in the drop-down subjects menu.

Social Media Channels for FlyDubai

FlyDubai is active on Facebook, X, Instagram, and Linkedin. If you’re not having any luck getting through by phone or you need to draw attention to an email or form request, you can always send a direct message on social media.

This method can provide a fast alternative to other means of contact, but be careful if you do this. If you post publicly about your complaint, you may be opening yourself to scammers who pose as airline representatives. Be sure that the page is authentic and only contact them through messenger. Also, don’t offer any sensitive information if you want to stay on the safe side.

Advice for a Successful Outcome

  1. While you may be frustrated, try to maintain a professional and courteous tone in your writing. Kindness and empathy will bring you better results.
  2. Be sure to include all the relevant details of your situation. Provide all the booking details, dates, times, as well as a clear explanation of what happened.
  3. Add supporting documents if you have them like notes from previous conversation with airline representatives, photos, etc. These will validate your complaint.
  4. Familiarize yourself with EU261 regulations and mention these in your complaint.
  5. Follow up if you need to. It can take some time for an airline to make a decision and respond to your complaint, so feel free to drop them another message.

Problems at airport

Oct 12, 2024
On 01 Oct 2024, the check in counter for Flydubai FZ1574 opened for baggage checkin but there was no notification of the EU261/2004 on the counter. I checked in my bag and was told to stand in another queue already formed by other passengers who had checked in earlier. FZ1574 STD13:40 from Bergamo Orio al Serio was delayed and eventually departed 19:00 from Milano Malpensa [daylight saving time in force]. This flight landed in Dubai DXB around 02:45 but the shuttle bus arrived late and I reached Terminal 3 around 03:30. There were no ushers for FZ1603 STD04:15 to direct me expeditiously to the assigned Gate. By the time I checked the Departure Screen and got to Gate B3 in Terminal 3, the gate was closed and I missed the connecting flight FZ1603. Flydubai airport staff did not provide any assistance [except provide bottled water and buns] as to when I could fly back to Penang and I was told like the other same passengers to wait around the Flydubai help counter for further update. Eventually, still in DXB, I managed to change the flight destination to Kuala Lumpur on Emirates EK342 STD10:05 on 02 Oct 2024, as the next Flydubai flight to Penang was on Friday, 04 Oct 2024. I shared a room with a fellow passenger at Sama-sama hotel for the night before returning to Penang on Batik Air OD2104 STD14:45 on 03 Oct 2024. I finally reached Penang on 03 Oct 2024 around 20:00.

Technical problems

Sep 2, 2024
On 14th August, I was informed by the airport that my flight from Catania to Dubai (EK 2186) was cancelled due to technical issues. Then the airline Fly Dubai inform me that my flight was re-arranged (EK 2186) on 15th August at 06:30 in the morning, however, when I arrived at the airport, the flight was cancelled again due to the eruption of volcano Etna. Then the airline Fly Dubai changed my first flight from Catania to Dubai on 16th August at 06:00 (FZ1484) and my connecting flight (EK0306) from Dubai to Beiing on 17th August at 03:50. When I arrived at Beijing, it was around 16:00 local time on 17th August.
