Technical problems

Airline didn't offer food vouchers or help with interrupted travel costs. Airline refused us compensation due advising it was less than three hours. However, we did not leave the runway until after 5.39pm when original flight time was 14.10pm. We were not advised of details at the airport, only aware of details due to app. Airline said first delay was because of adverse weather leaving Manchester and 2nd delay was due to a signalling error and had go have it checked out. We were only advised of this on-board flight. I have a screenshot of conversation advising family member of still being on tarmac. We missed two prepaid train journeys because of 2 delays. Airline didn't not ask to sign anything so uploaded a blank document to be able to continue application.

No reason given

We had a lot of disruption to our travel and accommodation bookings. We arrived at our final destination at 00.10hrs. The airline didn't tell us anything. But the pilot said that the plane had been used for a different destination. They provided Β£3 vouchers periodically. Yes we missed our car hire and first nights accommodation and had to sleep in Barcelona Airport.

We brought the bag over from Dublin to malta and there was no issue. Then on the way back from malta to Dublin, the Ryanair rep made me pay 60euro to check the bag as they said it was too big even though it wasn't as it was OK with the reps when coming over. They made a scene in the airport, it was embarrassing. I would like a refund please and an apology

Disgusting behaviour by Ryanair staff

We were a group of 6 adults + one infant travelling from Manchester airport to Sandefjord Torp airport on the 28th January at 15.20. Gate 46. We had purchased 4 x10kg check in bags + 1 x20kg check in bag. We also had a small pushchair for the baby of 3months + 7 small under the seat bags. When we got to the airport we tried to go to the self service machine and weigh our bags like we usually do. The machine would only allow us to check in Christines 1x 30kg bag + 1x10kg bag. We tried to check in the rest of the group but the machine wouldn’t allow it so we went to the check in desk where there was a trainee. He gave us a tag for the pushchair and we asked him for tags for the remainding check in bags. He told us we didn’t need to check in the remaining check in bags if we didn’t want to and didn’t need tags. The staff at Sandefjord airport had also said the same to us on the way to Manchester so we never thought anything of it and didn’t dispute this. We were told to take the 2 checked in bags with tags to the special luggage counter which we did. When we arrived at Gate 46 we were told that we hadn’t purchased priority boarding and hadn’t checked in the 10kg check in bags so we now had to pay for the checked in bags that hadn’t been checked in. I told them that the Trainee told us to take them with us onto the plane and wouldnt give us tags and we had asked him specifically whilst checking in the other 2 bags and the pushchair. The girl would not listen to us and started saying we had to pay Β£60 each for 3 bags. I said we’ve already paid for them to go in the hold- cant you just put tags on them and put them in the hold? She said we had to now pay for them again. I said we had them with us on the plane coming from Norway. All of a sudden a young black girl with a broad manchester accent on another counter started shouting β€˜make them pay for all the bags both ways!’ We were shocked at this- we are a quiet family with a baby snd are civilised people and speak respectfully to people. We felt attacked! A man called Salmon came and without listening demanded immediately that we pay or we couldnt get on the plane. We tried to explain again that we had tried to check in the bags both on the machine and with the trainee at the check in counter and was told we dodnt need tags or to check them in. Salmon was also very rude and stressed and wouΓΈd not listen and said he wasn’t going to argue and said we judt had to pay no matter what had happened. I showed him we had already paid but he wouldnt listen. By this time our whole group which consists of my husband, my 3 daughters, a son in law and a grandchild were standing totally shocked and this behaviour. The girl who shouted before on the other counter kept shouting rude remarks. We were utterly shocked. I said calmly to Salmon in the 24 years I’d flown with Ryanair to visit family in the UK I had never ever experienced such rude disgraceful service or behaviour. He then proceeded to say that I was being insulting to him. I said I was not being insulting- perhaps he misheard me and repeated what I had said. By this time the baby was getting very upset so My daughter took the baby and went onto the plane. We paid for the three 10kg check in bags again and started to go to the plane. Then the very rude girl on the other counter started running over to us saying we had too many β€˜under the seat bags’ I explained that one was the babys and one was my daughters who had already gone on board because she couldnt carry them and the baby and the stroller on her own. They would not listen to us and then they charged us for 2 more bags. 5x Β£60! The girl continued being rude. I am still in shock! I asked her to please stop harassing us and she just laughed and said ha harassing? I asked her for her name but she would not give me it. I asked Salmon fyo speak with hid bodd but he said I could not- I asked for his name and he gave it to me. We are totally and utterly disgusted by the behaviour we recieved. We were shaking and some of the group were crying whilst getting on the plane. This is a total misuse of power and should not be allowed to take place. We have travelled with our family to the UK with Ryanair for many many years. We know and follow the rules snd read them when they change. I remember when Ryanair first started up there was talk of employees running after people, misusing their power to get more money but I thought this had been stopped many moons ago. We are disgusted that a company can treat their own paying customers in such an awful way. It is obvious that your own trainee employer has made a mistake- why did they make us pay for HIS/ RYANAIRS mistake? Why did Salmon allow this young girl to be do rude and shout at us? When we arrive at the plane we were then met by the ground crew to take our bags and put in the hold. I said he couldn’t take the underseat bags to my daughter and her baby because they had baby food/equpment and medicines in them. He said ok take off the tags and put them under the seats. I think Ryanairs employees and crew need to be trained before they start demanding more money and harassing paying companies. I wish for a refund for these 5 bags we had to pay for and an apology for the disgusting treatment we received befor myself annd my family use Ryanair again. Ryanair totally succeeded in spoiling our trip and should be reported to Manchester airport and the Aviation group and should not get away with such behaviour. I forsee that the rude young girl won’t be working there much longer anyway with such a rude attitude, but it is an absolute disgrace that a grown man like Salmon allowed it to happen and actuallu thinks he is in the right to treat people in this way and misuse his power to demand money for Ryanair when they have clearly made a mistake. I honestly don’t understand how people can sleep at night treating people like this. This should not be happening in year 2025!

Can you offer discount flight London/Zagreb as a loyal cust

Dear Sir or Madam, on May 23, 2023, the flight from Zagreb to London Stansted Airport was postponed through your airline company. The ticket was bought at the agency and e-dreams. I booked a new ticket through your company to London and back the next day or the next free flight, and for this flight I paid for it. I didn't get a refund

We paid for a 10 kg bag but didn’t check it in.

We paid for a 10 kg carry on bag. We didn’t check it in at baggage check in. When we came to board we were told that we should have gone to baggage check in first to put the bag in the hold. We then had to pay €50 to get the bag into the hold because we had not included Priority boarding. The bag was then taken from us and a label applied to the back and we received a counter foil. After we took our seats a Ryanair representative on the plane said that they were putting the bag in the overhead locker. On landing at Stansted we removed the bag from the overhead locker only to find that the sticker had been removed. We can only deduce that this is yet another exercise in skullduggery by the world’s leading airline in skullduggery . There was a very small note on our boarding pass stating that the back should be checked in as we weren’t priority boarding. We need answer as to what the €50 charge was for as previously we had not needed to check a 10kg bag in.

Reschedule do to Storm Emergency Ireland

I was meant to travel to Dublin this weekend and was being hosted by a family, that at the moment, due to the national tragedy the storms have caused, are forced to be in shelters as they have no access to electricity, gas, water of any kind and changing my flights to a more reasonable date turns out to be more expensive than the flights itself. I tried to explain this to the customer agent on chat, raised a query, and you can see the lack of humanity and customer care the Airline presents. In this day in age, this should be penalized by law. Silvana Lainfiesta

Disrespectful, rude, inappropriate and unprofessional staff

Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding an incident involving a Ryanair staff member on flight RK7872 from Stansted to Marrakesh. I had a deeply unsettling experience. I was seated in 01B, a premium seat that I had paid for, when a male Ryanair employee, who was off duty, approached and sat next to me despite being told twice by an on-duty staff member, Marianne, to move to the back. He refused to comply. What followed was even more disturbing: he proceeded to loudly and explicitly discuss intimate details of his personal relationship, making graphic and inappropriate comments. I find it completely unacceptable that such behavior was allowed to occur, especially from an employee of your airline. I have been a loyal Ryanair customer for 15 years, but this experience has left me appalled. When I brought this issue to Marianne’s attention, she stated that because the individual was off duty, she was unable to take any action. I am extremely disappointed that such behavior was tolerated, and I am seeking reassurance that this matter will be addressed appropriately. Sincerely, Imran

Charged extra fees at boarding for bags we’ve used for years

We were travelling to Tenerife sur. we have been doing this journey via Ryanair for 3 years with the same bags - no problem We got to Leeds Bradford Airport on 22nd Jan to board our flight, all pre checked in as normal, same bags we’ve used We went to board the flight and were told just before boarding, β€œyour bags are too big to go on board. You have to pay Β£60 each to board the flight. There was no turning back as the flight was boarding. We tried, politely to explain to the young woman who made this edict, that for years, we have boarded the flight with these bags - with no problem. In fact, I purchased my bag, specifically to fit the Ryanair non checked bag on flight requirements All our attempts to explain this fell on deaf ears. What was supposed to be a good value break was all of a sudden Β£120 more expensive with no flexibility- understanding Is Ryanair Leeds Bradford airport trying to say that Luton, Stansted and all other airports we have travelled with same baggage are wrong and they are right ? This smacks of arbitrary profiteering - All we had was a β€˜read the small print’ quip from one of the attendants as we left to board the flight

ripped off off Β£229.46 for ticket i need a full refund

I was scheduled to fly from Manchester to Malta on December 27th, and I had already booked my flight and hotel. However, I later realized that I wouldn't be able to make the trip, as I would need a visa and my BRP wouldn't be sufficient for travel. I contacted customer service via chat, and I was informed that I would be charged Β£60 for a one-way ticket change if the company made the adjustments, or Β£45 if I handled the changes myself. I decided to make the change myself and was told I would only be charged this Β£45 fee. However, when I went to the website to make the changesβ€”without any guidance, which I found to be terrible customer serviceβ€”I was not only charged the Β£90 for the return flight change but also an additional Β£324.98. I then contacted the company to request a refund for the initial booking, as I had been charged twice, and for a new ticket to Albania. Unfortunately, I was given false information, with representatives claiming that the original Β£229.46 I had spent on the ticket to Albania was "lost." This was completely unbelievable. I work hard for my money, and I do not intend to waste it on such a matter. I went to the airport to lodge a complaint, but the staff kept redirecting me in circles and advised me to speak with online reps, who seemed clueless about the situation. I am requesting a full refund of the amount I have paid, as it is my hard-earned money. I am willing to provide all necessary documentation as required.

Upon arrival at the airport before the scheduled departure time, I discovered that my e-ticket was not working and that the flight was being postponed for more than 7 hours. I had to sit at the airport the entire time, as the airline employee said that they might find another plane and the time would be changed again. After the waiting time had expired, they informed me that I had to take a bus and go to another city in order to fly, as they were canceling the flight from Krakow. Due to bad weather conditions and poor organization of boarding the bus, I decided to cancel this flight. When I asked the employees to at least give me a voucher for food while I was waiting (it was more than 5 hours of waiting), I was refused. In total: a whole day of my life wasted.

Eindhoven Airport - Boarding gate

When scanning my boarding pass the stewardess told me that I should have checked my bag in the checkin counter. Then she proceeded to tell me that I have to fit all of that luggage in one bag (I know it’s probably a protocol sugestion but it sounded like a joke). I was then moved to the side waiting, which was fine, normal. Then I ask if I can pay for the luggage, they told me yes, I had cash that was denied by them and money on my account but my card was also denied (I don’t understand why as I’ve been using it my while vacations here) as I’m pulling another card the stewardess closed the door on me and said that I could no longer fly. No other solutions were given to me and I had money in cash, on my card and I said I’d even leave the luggage there if needed. I was crying, visibly upset and no one helped and they turned their backs on me. Someone from another airline had to come and aid me. I’d like to complain about the lack of payment options, and the way it was handled. The staff (stewards) were very inconsiderate and could have told me where to go and what to do next, if not by obligation then by common sense and humanity. I did not know I had to check in the luggage but I paid for it and I paid for the flight, now I have to spend money on a new ticket, stay one more day and miss work. I’d like compensation for that. It makes no sense that I had money and ways to pay for luggage but that I was still denied boarding. I’ll attach my boarding pass. Thank you so much for your time, Maria Giraldes

Weather conditions

Upon arriving at Krakow Airport well in advance of the scheduled departure time, we were informed of a delay. Over several hours, there was minimal communication about the cause or expected duration of the delay. Later, we were informed that the flight would not be departing from Krakow, and we were transported to another airport. The lack of timely updates and support during this time caused significant inconvenience. When the flight finally departed at approximately 11:30 PM, it had been over 12 hours since the scheduled departure, severely impacting our travel plans. Impact of the Delay 1. Disruption to Plans: The delayed arrival in Manchester meant we missed pre-arranged transport and other important commitments. 2. Financial Costs: We incurred the following additional expenses as a direct result of the delay: Β Β Β Β Β Β β€’Β Β Β Β£99.37 for meals and refreshments (Β£59.77 + Β£39.60). Β Β Β Β Β Β β€’Β Β Β Β£75.91 for alternative transport due to missed arrangements. Receipts are attached for verification, and I kindly request full reimbursement. 3. Personal Disruption: The delay coincided with my daughter’s birthday, which disrupted family plans and caused additional emotional strain.

Very rude staff at passport check desk. Change of seat.

Once we had been through security we qued up to board the plane. We had our boarding passes scanned and then made our way through. The male member of staff who was not the person who scanned us in called my wife back when we were already down the stairs despite him dealing with somebody else. He said my wife's bag was too big and asked her to place it in the bag checker and instantly said it was too big even though it fitted in. I had only paid for us to have a carry on small bag. When we flew out from Liverpool the bag was checked and they said it was fine to be classed as a small bag. The Ryanair male staff who spoke to us at Dublin was extremely rude to me and my wife and in front of a que of people as well . He pretty much shouted at us and made it very embarrassing. I tried to explain that the bag was checked at Liverpool and they didn't charge us and surely there should be continuity but he just completed ignored me and then demanded payment for my wife's bag to be checked in. I paid 60 euros to save us being embarrassed but also as the man was not listening to me at all anyway. To add further insult to this travel experience they then told me there had been a change in aircraft and my seat had now gone as it was on the emergency aisle so they had to move me and I could not sit with my wife.

Complaint about being prevented from boarding the plane

I am writing to formally complain about an unpleasant and distressing experience I had with your airline during my recent flight NΒ° RK1078 Edimburg-Hamburg on January 20th, 2025 I was required to board the flight with a backpack that complied with your baggage policy, fitting perfectly within the designated carry-on size limits. However, at the airport, I was told I would need to pay an additional fee for excess baggage despite my backpack fitting within the allowed measurements and clearly meeting all the necessary requirements. I was made to wait until the very last minute, causing significant anxiety and stress, as I was repeatedly warned that I would miss my flight. The staff was uncooperative and refused to resolve the issue promptly, leaving me in a very stressful situation. This delay was unnecessary and caused great discomfort, especially considering that my bag was well within the stipulated size limits. I have photographic evidence showing that my backpack met the size requirements, and I am attaching these images for your reference. The way I was treated was completely unacceptable and not in line with the level of service I expect from an airline of your reputation.

Issue with Staff member

I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding the behavior of one of your crew members, Dimitri, during our recent flight with Ryanair. During the descent of the flight, my wife was holding our two-year-old son, who was crying and distressed due to fatigue and the change in altitude. The flight had already been delayed by two hours, and understandably, the situation was challenging for us. When Dimitri approached, he addressed us in an extremely rude and unprofessional manner, insisting that we seat our son and fasten his belt. While we complied and apologized for the situation, we politely inquired if it might be possible to allow my wife to keep our son on her lap while securing the belt to help calm him down. Dimitri’s response was aggressive and dismissive, stating, β€œNo, once you’ll arrive and take a car you won’t keep him on your lap, right? So do the same!” This tone and approach shocked not only us but also nearby passengers who witnessed the exchange. After landing, I calmly attempted to address the matter with Dimitri, pointing out that his role required a more courteous and empathetic approach toward passengers. His response was even more outrageous: β€œIf you don’t know how to travel with kids, don’t do it.” Such behavior is utterly unacceptable and reflects poorly on Ryanair’s commitment to customer service. Over the past 20 years, I have flown frequently with various airlines, including Ryanair, and I have never encountered such rudeness or lack of professionalism from a member of cabin crew. This experience has caused significant disappointment and left a lasting negative impression. I strongly recommend that you address this matter with Dimitri to ensure he receives the necessary training in customer service and professionalism. Furthermore, I believe a gesture of compensation is warranted, given the distress caused and my loyalty as a longstanding Ryanair customer. I trust this matter will be taken seriously, and I look forward to your prompt response.

Payment of €70 for cabin bag

I am writing to formally express my disappointment regarding an issue I encountered during my recent flight from Malta to Stansted. I was charged €70 for my cabin bag at the departure lounge due to its size, despite the fact that the same bag was accepted without issue when I flew from Stansted to Malta on an earlier leg of my journey. This inconsistency in process is frustrating and highlights a lack of uniformity in the enforcement of your policies. As a customer, I expect an end-to-end experience where rules are applied consistently across all points of the journey. Being subjected to additional charges at the departure lounge in Malta, after my bag was deemed acceptable at Stansted, felt unjustified and avoidable. Furthermore, the staff involved handled the situation with a noticeable lack of empathy. As a customer, I expect to be treated with courtesy and understanding, particularly in situations where there may be confusion or inconsistency in the application of policies. Unfortunately, this was not my experience as I had to remove some of my personal belongings and left it at the Airport. I kindly request that you investigate this matter, review the handling of cabin baggage across your operations, and provide clarity on why this inconsistency occurred. Thank you for taking the time to address my concerns. I look forward to your prompt response and resolution to this matter.

Very rude staff at passport check desk. Change of seat.

We flew from Liverpool to Dublin with Ryanair on the 17th of January. I had paid for me and my wife to just have a small carry on bag so not priority. When we left Liverpool the bag was checked and we were advised it was classed as a small bag. From Dublin to Liverpool we were stopped and charged for my wife's bag and it was the exact same bag. How can it be different coming back to when we went. I was charged for this bag to come on the plane and it was over Β£50. The man for Ryanair who spoke to me and my wife was extremely rude and dismissive when we tried to explain that the bag was aloud from Ryanair when we flew to Dublin from Liverpool, this shows a complete lack of consistency but more than that the way were spoken to was disgusting and it was in front of a que of other passengers. After all that my boarding pass was scanned and they then told me there was a change of aircraft so my seat had been changed and I could now not sit with my wife.

Weather conditions

The flight was meant to be 5:45am from Liverpool and we took off just before 2pm. The airport was clean from snow or ice just around 10am and up until that point nothing was happening and we got hourly updates that the flight was delayed but no specific time was given. The flight was delayed for almost 8hours.

I landed at around 23.50pm. the flight was first delayed to 20.00, the airline emailed me at around 15.25pm, the app mentioned that the flight was delayed due to long air traffic control slots. the airline only issued a 4-euro voucher, no other care. the departure time was then further delayed to 20.35, but the actual departure time was around 21.00. I had to wait at the airport for hours, and only got a few hours sleep since i came back home very late due to the delay, and the next day i had to leave home early for work. I also missed the dinner appointment with my boyfriend due to the delay.

I did not receive the VAT invoice requested at the time of b

I was assured that Ryanair would provide the VAT invoice I had requested during my booking. However, I have yet to receive it. As VAT compliance is a legal obligation for Ryanair, it is also a requirement for me to ensure accurate reporting. With my accounts now closed, this delay is causing unnecessary inconvenience.

Verbally and physically attacked

Dear team, i am still in shock for the bad treatment received by your staff at Paphos airport. The whole team tried to stop me from boarding the plane. First, they failed to indicate the correct gate on the departure boards. Successively they announced a delay but started the boarding process. Luckily, i checked on my laptop and I saw the correct and updated information. Then, when I arrived at the gate, I was asked to carry only one bag as per my ticket regulations. I was a bit annoyed as I saw people bringing large suitcases on board, but I complied and even left behind few items. Finally when I was on the stairs to enter the airport, I was verbally attacked by a different member of the team from the gate and for no reason tried to deny boarding. At that point everybody was in shock and disgusted by this behaviour. A fellow passenger even stood up for me after I was called with a racial slur. I was physically attacked (one of the guy stood between me and the staircase holding me back with all his weight) and verbally insulted without a valid reason. WHen i made my voice heard - I am a legal counsel, they realised that were abusing their power and stopped. At that point I was able to travel and continue my journey. However, the whole experience left me traumatised and disgusted. I also had to attend ER for the injury caused by one of your team members. There were plenty of people that could testimony how i was called and treated. this is not tolerable. As you can see I have recently had a number of flights with you and nothing has ever happen. I now want to legally pursue my complaint.

Baggage Charge

Dear Ryanair Customer Service, I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding my recent experience at the boarding gate for my flight to Seville. Despite having purchased priority boarding and a cabin bag allowance, I faced significant issues that I believe warrant your attention. Upon arriving at the boarding gate, I was informed by a staff member that there was no priority check-in available, and consequently, my cabin bag was not considered eligible. This was quite surprising, as I had paid specifically for these services. The staff member in question was particularly overzealous, insisting that I place my bag into the measuring device. Given that the flight was nearing the end of boarding, I felt pressured and had little choice in the matter. When I explained my situation and requested understanding, the staff member responded with a confrontational tone, insisting that I either pay an additional fee of Β£70 or risk missing my flight. This was especially distressing as I was traveling to attend a family funeral. Her approach was rude and dismissive, leaving me feeling unheard and unfairly treated. It is worth noting that I have generally found Ryanair staff to be pleasant and accommodating during check-in, which makes this particular encounter all the more disappointing. The behavior of this staff member not only reflects poorly on her but also on Ryanair's service ethos as a whole. I believe it is unfair to penalize customers who have purchased specific tickets and baggage allowances. I hope you take my concerns seriously and consider reviewing your staff training and customer service policies to prevent similar incidents in the future. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your response

What time did you arrive at your destination? I arrived at my destination around 6:00 PM local time the following day. What did the airline tell you and when? Initially, the airline informed us of a 5-hour delay, but additional delays were announced incrementally. While waiting in line to board, we were sent back to the terminal without any explanation. Later, it was announced that the flight would depart at 10:40 AM the next day. What assistance did the airline provide, if any? The airline offered two vouchers: one worth Β£4 for the evening and another worth Β£8 for the morning. The vouchers were only enough for a cup of hot tea and water. How was this event inconvenient for you? Due to the delay, I was unable to go to work the next day, resulting in a lost day's wages. Did you miss an event or lose money? Yes, I lost a day's wages because I couldn't attend work.

Strike

I was visiting my son in Antwerp. I was scheduled to return to Zagreb on 13/01/25. I received the message that my flight was cancelled when I was on Flibco bus and rather near the Charleroi Airport. The clerk at the airport (which was closed except for three counters) told me that she could only send me to Dubrovnik the next day. My request for another destination that would be nearer to Zagreb (my final destination) was futile. The next morning, after I was forced to spend a night in a depressing hotel near the airport, I found myself stranded in Dubrovnik and hoping to find a seat on the next flight to Zagreb. I was lucky and left for Zagreb at 1PM. I had to pay for the hotel, for the plane from Dubrovnik to Zagreb and for the meals and drinks I had to order during that forced stay. Luckily I saved all the receipts.

Strike

I claimed the money for the flight back, the website mentioned it will be refunded, but I havent received anything yet even though it says normally it is paid within 24 hours. Besides that I claimed for EU261 compensation, but it is rejected due to strikes that caused the cancellation which they claim was outside Ryanair's control. I dont agree since the strikes were announced, they were bagage handling and public transport, so no reason the flight could not depart (delayed). Plus other airlines managed to fly that day, I ended up flying with Easyjet from Linate

Was charged e75 for my carry on 10 kg bag

The bag complies with ryanair dimensions fitted into the ryanair sizing box at airport gate. Yet the Ryan air gate staff who refused to give me her name wouldn't acknowledge that the bag fitted kept telling me it was too big when it was very clear that the bag fitted and would not let me go any further till I paid e75. Am just so bloody annoyed as I've been very careful choosing the right size and I've repeatedly used the same bag over and over and over again with no issue. I want my e75 back. I do have photographic evidence and I feel I have been very wronged. I wish and want my e75 back as the bag clearly fitted into ryanair sizing box
