We were supposed to fly on the 24th, we all boarded the plane with a delay. Then we were told that the flight will be canceled and rescheduled for the next day. Everyone got sent off the plane to be rescheduled for the next day. Since we live in Portugal, we did not need the hotel accommodation they were offering to other passengers and went home to take the flight the next day.

I arrived at the airport ~3hrs before expected departure.... so around 10am. Flight was boarded halfway then deplaned. There was a series of delays while readying the plane and eventually we departed 4 hours after expected departure.

The flight delay was for 3hrs25min because the aircraft that we were meant to board didn't arrive on time for the 9:45am flight, so instead we flew at 1:00pm.

Technical problems

Original time of landing in Toronto was scheduled for 2:40pm but actually landed minutes to 7pm. Air Transat did not mention any delays at the airport until I checked my app and slowly but surely emails started coming in advising about delay after delay after delay. The mentioning of delays were very late. Air Transat tried to please customers by giving out food vouchers but ended up not giving everyone one, me included since they had issues printing the vouchers so only some passengers got vouchers but not all of us. By the time I got on the plane and leaving the Lisbon airport at 4:30pm which was scheduled for 11:35am I was physically and mentally exhausted. Which didn’t help that we were then put on a HiFly airplane Airbus A340-300 which was run down and the seat I was in was ripped and broken since the reclining button was broken. I asked to move and the flight attendant said there was nothing that could have been done, yet, it’s a safety issue if you’re not sitting in an upward position when taking off or landing. Extremely an uncomfortable experience.
