Standing for long period in the stairwell before boarding

As usual , we were called for boarding but had to wait on the stair for 25 minutes. I’m sick of that happening. It makes it so unpleasant to travel with Ryanair . Does Mr O’Leary travel like this ?! There were older folk having to stand for this amount of time and tho they don’t need assistance, it’s still challenging to stand that long .

Technical problems

Real arrival time on London Stansted Airport 10:45 PM (scheduled arrival 7 PM which makes it 3h 45min delay) As per information delivered to all the passengers by airport crew, airplane crew and the pilot himself, the flight FR28 was delayed due to plane issues involving problems with engine and wheels. Those issues were found on the flight back from Rome to Palma the Mallorca airport. At first we were waiting for the mentioned plane to be fixed, which turned to be impossible and all the passengers were brought back to the gate nr A11 and requested to await further information about the delay. Final decision was to bring another plane. Ryanair online eu261 compensation form falsely indicates "weather conditions" as a reason for the delay, which is why I am not able to submit the form as per guidance on Ryanair website. Worth mentioning is also fact, the next flight from Palma the Mallorca Airport to London Stansted Airport departed at scheduled time 8:15 PM.

Good afternoon, At the airport I was told that I will receive the refund of min 400€ automatically, can you please advise if I actually have to do any extra steps. All this situation is very inconvenient, never experienced something like that from Ryanair. I don't understand why I couldn't be told straight away that the flight is overbooked, I travelled from Lithuania till Latvia since 3 am waited at the airport and nobody advised me that there is no space for me. Then long travel through the Stansted, delayed flight as well. Arrived home only at around 23hrs, missed my appointments. It's very shocking experience. So please advise me when I should expect refund. Regards, Vilma Vaivadaite

Technical problems

The communication with the RyanAir employees was really bad and did not offer any resolutions. I received e-mail notifications while at the airport about the delay (first a 60min delay, then a 90min delay, then a new e-mail saying that the new departure time is 9:30 AM so I just assumed it will be the next day, but no one was at the desk and the gate screen was not updated). Someone finally came at the desk after 30-40 minutes saying that the flight was indeed rescheduled for the next day. I asked what options do I have and I was told that I can change the flight dates for free or ask for a refund using the app. When asking where exactly do I find the info or where should I click in the app, the 2 employees mentioned that they are not familiar with the RyanAir app so they can't help. The employees were rude to all the people and their responses were not professional at all. The flight was delayed for more than 12 hours (initially scheduled on Friday evening, then delayed, then re-scheduled for Saturday morning then for noon), and considering that the return flight would have been scheduled for Sunday afternoon my plans for Saturday were affected and there was too little time left. Also, I had made plans with friends to take a train from Brussels on Saturday morning so that was also cancelled. I have missed a very important event because of this - as one of my friends was planning to propose that day. I have been trying to at least change the flight date but it wasn't possible without the additional pay (so not for free as being told before). Overall, the interaction with RyanAir and their website and platform accessibility were very disappointing and the experience was bad, wouldn't recommend at all.

Technical problems

The flight was delayed 90 minutes due to technical issues but then I received an email saying that the flight is scheduled on the next morning. At 9:30 AM. In the morning when I woke up, I received another message saying that the flight is rescheduled to 11:50 AM. I have decided to not go to bruxelles anymore since there was so much delay. Therefor I won’t be able to leave from bruxelles tomorrow back to RomΓ’nia. In the Ryanair app there is no place at all for the compensation. Please make justice for my case!

Claim escalated to airline

Technical problems

We were about to board the plane, and we got told by the stewardess that the flight is being delayed to around 10pm (so around 6 hours of delay). We heard no words or notifications from Ryan Air about the new departure time, only that it was delayed. We had to wait for hours with two small kids and the food stand at the airport had no more food even. At around 9 or 10 pm we started getting notifications about further delays, until finally the flight was pushed to around midnight. We had to arrive to Dublin at 3am with small kids, no way to pick up our car from the rental place. The whole experience was a disaster.

We boarded the plane, but when it was time to take off, we couldn’t due to a technical issue. Mechanics were called to fix it, but they couldn’t resolve the problem. We were then asked to switch to another plane. The total delay was approximately 3 hours.

No reason given

My flight was delayed by more than three hours upon arrival at the final destination, which, under Regulation (EC) No 261/2004, would ordinarily entitle me to compensation. When I wanted to submit a compensation request on the Ryanair website, the system didn t allow me to do it, through a message saying that the delay was caused by an "unforeseeable bird strike on the aircraft," which they classified as an extraordinary circumstance beyond their control. While I acknowledge that bird strikes can sometimes fall under extraordinary circumstances, I have reasons to question whether this was indeed the cause of the delay. It has come to my attention that multiple flights were delayed on the same day, possibly due to internal issues involving Ryanair staff. Delays resulting from internal strikes or staffing problems are not typically considered extraordinary circumstances and do not absolve the airline of its responsibility to compensate passengers. The widespread delays on that day suggest a broader issue, raising doubts about the validity of Ryanair's explanation. I find it regrettable that the airline has cited a bird strike as the cause of the delay, rather than addressing the situation transparently taking the responsability of the delay.

Technical problems

We received an e-mail from Ryanair claiming that the flight will be delayed to 23h. Less than 10 minutes after, we received another email from the company claiming that the flight will be delayed to 21h. After that, We received an e-mail only saying sorry for the delay and a notice linked to our right in line with EU/regulations EU261/2004. It was really frustrating when 21h was already there and there was no clue when are we going to start boarding, or to fly. We were really scared that the flight would be cancelled since we had no clue, especially that we had no cash left with us. At the airport we didn’t want to spend too much money before knowing what’s gonna happen to our flight. Around 21h30-22h we started boarding. We flew around 22h45. We decided to have dinner in the aircraft. Unfortunately, our credit cards were unable to work in the aircraft only during our travel, so we were not allowed to have dinner during the flight while we were starving. We had no care provided by the airline. We landed around 01h00 am of the 19th of November instead of 20h25 of the 18th of November. By the way, i had work at 8am i arrived late, and my brother was unable to go to his class not allowing him to assist to an important topic linked to his medical studies

Refused the right to make a claim - Dublin Airport

Last Wednesday, November, 13th, I arrived at the Dublin Airport and, at around 10am, when claiming my checked-in baggage, I noticed it was visibly damaged (as shown by the pictures in attachment). I immediately went to Ryanair's baggage desk where someone else was already complaining about their damaged luggage. They were told the same thing they told me, repeatedly: the damage was not enough because the luggage "would have to be destroyed" for me to make an official claim and get the Property Irregularity Report (PIR) number. According to Ryanair's rules, they are not responsible for occasional superficial damage, but this is not the case since the way in which the luggage was handled has caused damage to its integrity, making it liable to break and become unusable. I believe the staff member was following the company's directives but I find it very unfair to not even have the chance or the right to make an official claim and have the damages actually evaluated, instead of someone deciding it based on their own opinion. I made an official complaint with Ryanair and of course they refused to acknowledge anything since I was not able to get the PIR number at that moment. I do not know what more I could have done considering the staff member would not budge at all.

On 11.11.24 we traveled from Tenerife to Barcelona. I traveled with luggage measuring 20, 20, 40 cm. An extremely rude and ill-mannered Ryanair employee told me that the luggage did not meet the dimensions and that I had to pay 50 Euros. I traveled with this luggage on the way back and I had no problems. I refused to pay, my friends with the same size luggage passed, but your employee decided to show me who the boss was and absolutely unforgivably refused to let me through. I had a second flight from Barcelona which I also missed.I fell into a serious condition, there was no other flight that day, I had to sleep at the airport. I am 71 years old and I have diabetes, asthma. I fell into depression, I lost my self-confidence, pride, I fell into a nervous state and when I returned to Bulgaria after 36 hours, I had to lie in the hospital. I asked for the name of the employee to make a complaint, but out of confidence, they refused to give the name. I think she is a team manager. I think your employees are there to help, not to show bad behavior and managerial tendencies. I left my complaint at the Ryanair counter, but I doubt they reported it. Please investigate this case so that other passengers do not fall victim to such rude, unceremonious behavior.

Disruptive Passenger

Hi Guys, I am not a person who complains easily, but I feel that I have to complain about an incident on my flight from Edinburgh to Barcelona. I was seated in seat 11A and a guy was seated initially in 10B (although he did move to the aisle seat which was unoccupied) I am afraid to say that he was very drunk on getting onto the plane. He and his friends (who were not seated with him) had obviously purchased alcohol and decanted it onto plastic bottles to enable them to continue drinking on the flight, which he did. Personally I think he shouldn't have been allowed to board in the first place. However, he came aboard. Not long after we were under way he started to hit on the asian woman sitting in front of me (this would be seat 10A) and when she ignored him he became extremely abusive and racist towards her. At one point calling her a word that I am not allowed to use here. Now I am not sure how the other, particularly female, passengers felt about his behaviour, but suspect that like myself they felt distinctly unsafe, probably to a greater extent than me for the females. I am fully aware from a subsequent look at the face of the young lady concerned that she was terrified about what might happen next. If that were not enough the cabin crew actually did nothing, and the male member frequently shook hands with guy. As we disembarked we told the cabin crew, who said that if we had drawn it to their attention they would have done something. NOT ACCEPTABLE! If the cabin crew were up to their job they would have known exactly what was going on without having to be told, and done something about it. So saying that they didn't know was either a lie, or incompetence - neither acceptable. In either case the cabin crew really should not be doing this job if they are not prepared to intervene in such situation to keep passengers safe. In many ways it seemed that the cabin crew were, to an extent, complicit in there guy's behaviour, and shaking his hand on numerous occasions would have give the guy the message that the was doing nothing wrong - again not acceptable. This is only a very brief complaint compared to what I could have written. At the end of the day it has made me reconsider whether or not I want to fly with your airline in the future, and at present that leans very far towards not wanting to.

They charged me 75Β£ for my bag that was cabin size

After they checked my passport and boarding pass i started walking towards the plane and one of the guys that working there started running after me insisting to out my bag in the box, i refused as i already was through and said that my bag is a cabin size and i always travel with it. After measuring it there it fitted but inly sticked out less than one inch. They insisted and surrounded me very rude that i have to pay 75Β£ . I asked to see a fee document as i never heard of such a high fee. Usually is 40Β£ and my bag was small cabin bag. They started laughing at me and said if i don’t pay i need to leave my bag there. So i was cautious not to miss my flight and paid. This translates in 90€ which i believe is extremely high for a cabin size bag. I demand refund as this was the worst experience i ever had. Your stuff is very rude and not competent.

Luggage charged at EDI airport

I'm a frequent flyer with Ryanair and always use the sane suitecase as I understand your guidelines. I was told at EDI airport I needed to pay for checked baggage which I did. When I went to leave my bag to be checked the flight attendance told me no more room and I can store it in the overhead bin as the size is within the limit. I should not been charged for my bag to be checked and even when I did there was no room for it and I had to log it up the stairs to the entrance of the plane and flight attendance agreed with me that my bag should not be checked. I have taken pictures and requesting a full refund as my bag was stored in the overhead bin during my flight as there was no storage left in your checked bag storage on the flight. I'm very disappointed about this matter as I had to spend my travel money to get my bag on the flight and now I'm out of pocket for food money.

Refusal to compensate for a problem (cancellation)

Ryanair sent me an email cancelling my return flight. So I booked an alternative flight with EZJ for same day. Ryanair then sent me an email later in the day say 'mistaken email sent and flight is not cancelled'. I cancelled the EZJ flight and incurred their Β£49 cancellation fee. I Contacted Ryanair and asked for them to compensate me for the fee I incurred because of the problem they created. They responded with: Ryanair flights are non-refundable. Changes to flight dates, routes, times, and customer names can be made online prior to the initial date of travel, our standard fees and fare difference may apply. We sympathise with your circumstances but we are not in a position to process your refund request and recommend that you contact your travel insurer with regard to this matter. This response totally ignores what has happened and why they are responsible for my additional costs. Responding to their response appears impossible in these circumstances. Any advice much appreciated.

I have submitted a detailed outline on our experience of over 13hrs on a plane that had no food, water, toilets not working and having to hand out the gifts of biscuits and sweets we bought for our family because the staff and customers on the plane were so hungry they were getting angry and upset. We were both trying to calm people down by offering what food we had. We landed in Dublin and had to make the 4hr journey back to Letterkenny which meant we were over 20hrs traveling from we left our hotel in ibiza until we reached home. Extra charge on cabin luggage within airline guidelines

On reaching the departure lounge you baggage handler placed our luggage onto the measuring instrument, case measurements within Ryanair guidelines. The handler told us to stand over there as we have to pay more money!! which was very embarrassing as we were in view of all sat in the departure lounge!! The reason he gave for this was that the wheels just tipped the edge of the measuring instrument and that they could not be stored in the overhead luggage compartment and would have to go into the hold. We tried to explain that the wheels swivel to become straight,he did not attempt to try this and did not seem to be really listening to us. Just kept saying go over there. We did as we were told!!! and how embarrassing again!! We then obviously had to pay total of Β£150 for two cabin cases. On boarding the aircraft the cases were not taken from us,we explained to the cabin crew member who said it is nothing to do with us, but to place our cabin luggage in the overhead storage as normal. Both cases fitted no problem with clearance to close the door. This left us very stressed on going away on what we thought would be a relaxing few days visiting a lovely city. We feel we have been unfairly charged for this embarrassing experience. We have used this cabin luggage on many flights with no problems at all!,,

I booked my ticket over a month before the flight (booked on August 23rd for September 29th), and online check in done online over 5 hours before the flight (check in done at 6am on the 29th, for a departure at 12:10pm). Despite this, I was not attributed a seat (as can be read on the ticket 'siège attribué à l'aéroport' / seat attributed at the airport). The airport staff was confused and explained me that it was a rare case but that the flight was overbooked and that there was no available seat for me. Another family of 4 was in the same situation as I was. That did put me in a great situation of stress as I was travelling with my partner who was let on the plane and created strong inconvenience.

No reason given

After waiting for a few hours for our flight we were told it had been delayed by 2 and half hours. As we were already past security we had no choice but to sit on the hard plastic chairs and wait. I have suffered from scoliosis since I was born and get very sore when sitting or standing for too long after the first hour I was in quite a bit of pain. When we were finally called to begin the process of boarding we then had to stand for nearly an hour before getting to our seats. We had paid for extra leg room seats due to my scoliosis. The seats we bought were at the door so we could get on and off quicker. This did not go to plan as the flight attendants used the space that was supposed to be for our leg room to store the trolley and let people use the space to line up for the toilet. I was extremely squashed and uncomfortable during the flight and none of the flight attendants tried to fix this despite us paying a premium price for the seats. By the time we got to Barcelona airport and had collected our suitcase I was in tears due to the level of pain I was in. We made our way to our hotel transfer point only to find out that we had missed our transfer due to the delay and would now have to wait until 2.15am for another bus. After over an hour of standing waiting we finally got on the transfer and I could hardly hold myself upright. We reached our hotel at 4am and went to our room but I couldn't sleep due to the amount of pain I was in. It was 3 days of rest and medication before I was able to stand and walk properly and was able to go anywhere. I feel like our holiday was impacted greatly by this as the pain I was in affected where we could go and what we could do and essentially ruined what was supposed to be a relaxing holiday. Since coming home I have been suffering from back and hip pain as a result. I have had to alter my college course to be able to work from home as I am in too much pain to go most days. I have barely left the house since coming home and my mental health has been affected as much as my physical health as a result. If I could go back in time I would have just stayed at home and not went on holiday as it just wasn't worth it considering the position I am now in. Angela

Ryanair stewardess refused my access to toilette for 45 min after landing while waiting for Assistance, Assistance in Bristol did not have a wheelchair but forced me to sit on a low chair, which forced my recently operated knee, moreover i urinated on myself. I missed connection from Bristol to Carmarthen, making me wait for another transport for 5 hrs. I am totally ill, disappointed and Ryanair disappointed me as a client.I need claim for my missing the transport due to 45 min delay of arrival Assistance in Bristol Airport. I paid 200 Β£ more for transport due to this delay.

I was charged 120.00 euro for 2 10kilo bags that were both 9

The excuse was there were too big I've been traveling 3 times a year for the last 7 years with the same bags and never had a problem and because of this I booked the cases into the hold at an extra fifty odd euro being afraid o would be charged coming back we are very disappointed and feel this is way out of order as we are regular traveler's with ryanir and never been treated like this before .regards James bird

Malta Airport baggage overcharged

I flew with Ryanair for the first time. Checked the baggage allowance, measured and weight my bags, prepaid at the time of booking. Had no problem on the way from Lisbon to Malta. On the way back I was forced to pay 75 Euro despite the fact that my bag sizes are: 49.5x34x19. Perfect fit in the box except the front wheels. While taking my bag out of the box something sharp inside damaged it. After I made the payment I was allowed to take my bag to the cabin as well which is dismiss all the purpose and against your policy. Can provide the pictures of my suitcase measurements, airport picture and the damage of the baggage. Asking for a refund of 75 euro and compensation for the damaged bag. Thank you. Best, Anna Cobb

Nothing at airport

Got on board Ryanair flight taken off then went up in air, seat belt signs off then to be told on the mic to all customers we can't serve drinks duty frees due to a technology error with there mobile devices to be told only hot food avaliable. Ordered a bacon baguette and waited nearly 40 mins as I had to call over one of staff. Also seat belts signs were still on when there was no turbulence on flight and all captain was doing was out of cotpit chatting all staff up and people complaining and seat beat signs was on then captain went in the cotpit after half an hour and finally turned them off asking 4 times. All due to a connection error with your equipment could not get drinks hot or cold only hot food which is bad I won't be flying with you again never and all we got is bottle of water during the flight

I had to pay extra for luggage but it was the correct size

I have travelled with Ryanair multiple times. Each time I have carried the same small handbag and the same small bag. Each time this has been fine (I have travelled to Croatia and back, Italy and back, and London and back with these bags before using RyanAir and never had an issue with it). But suddenly today it was not fine to have the small handbag, so I placed it inside my other small bag, but the airport attendants at this point just did not want me to have both, so they said I still had to pay 60 euros for the extra bag. I questioned it because I only had one small bag now (since I put my handbag in my other bag) and it was within limits. They still said I had to pay 60 euro. At this point I could not question it because I needed to catch my flight so I just paid the money. But when I went to give my β€œoversized” bag to the cabin crew to stow in the luggage compartment they said this is ridiculous and the bag was smaller than other bags in the cabin so I should place it in the overhead cabin storage (which I have done successfully on ever other RyanAir flight with this same bag) and it of course fit because it had fit every other time. I would like my 60 euro returned for β€œplacing the bag in the luggage compartment” because it was never placed there and never needed to be placed there. I felt that other Dutch passengers had much bigger bags than me in the cabin but I was discriminated against by the Eindhoven Airport employees because I am South African and not Dutch and not Dutch speaking and I had to pay a fine that should not have been incurred because my small bag fit very easily in the overhead compartment. I have included for reference a picture of the size of my bag and as I said - it was smaller than most of the bags in the overhead compartments of the cabins of the Dutch travellers but because I was not Dutch I was discriminated against and I had to pay 60 euro for a bag smaller than all the other passengers.

Was charged 60 euro for a case that was cabin size .

Was charged 60 euro fir a case that we had already paid for through our travel agents. The staff said it didn't fit intonthe metal stand. It did but because if the extended zip they said it wasn't suitable. They insisted that we would akso be charged coming back which was not the case if this bag was not suitable going out then why not coming back. I feel that this was a way if making extra money for Ryanair as itcwas a bank holiday weekend i felt the spanish cres at the deas was very rude and dismissive. I am extremly angry as our bags were the right size and that other people who had similar bags were not pulled asidecand charged. Also on the return flight we left our duty free under the seat in front of my husband 20 C flight FR3103. We discovered when we got into terminal so went straight to customer service. They contacted plane but surprise surprise it wasn't there. Thus indicates to me that either flight crew or cleaning staff had taken it. We were literally 5 to 7 mins off the plane. We soent almost 100 euro an whiskey vodka and chocolate gifts. This does not give me any trust in Ryanair anymore. I would like to be refunded my 6o euro please. I am sick to my stomach to think that passengers can be singled out like this.

Would like to cancel flight

I have a flight to valencia on the 15th of November. But under the circumstances of the recent weather & devastating I really don't think it's safe to travel there. I was going to watch moto GP & had a hotel book. Which thankfully is both still standing. But have been informed the structural surrounding area is unsafe. I have contacted ryanair to be told flights will still be flying into valencia. So can not get a refund or changed of flight without paying extra. I feel as if you have no concerns for anybodies health & safety. I really thought under the circumstances you would of made allowance for time's like these. I am very disappointed in this company. Dear Ryanair, I am writing to you to raise an issue about: Airlines The issue that I have experienced was: (This is the evidence shown at the airport) Is UK still part of Schengen visa? The UK is not a part of the Schengen Area, where overseas nationals living in the UK may need a Schengen visa to travel to Europe. However, British citizens can still travel across Europe visa-free It occurred on: 2024-10-12 This meant that The above was shown whilst checking in for our flight, my partner checked prior with the Spanish embassy, however we were told by a manager we need a visa, she would not accept the information we provided. My partner is a British Citizen with a British travel document. They refused to accept this. We were not allowed to go on our first holiday together that cost over Β£700 We request that you Refund our holiday and travel costs to and from the airport I look forward to your prompt response on this matter. As recommended by Trading Standards, I would like to keep a complete record of my case, so please reply to this email address. Violent behaviour on board.

The crew allowed drunken violent and abusive passengers on board. These people should have been removed by British security before taking off . These passengers started fighting one had a finger mealy bitten off and another had his face split open. There was huge amounts of blood and this situation could have easily put many innocent people in danger .My wife was terrified and had to change seat . She spent the whole flight shaking and terrified! This situation may-we’ll have been far more serious had one air hostess not have put herself in danger to control the situation. This would have been avoided if proper procedures had been followed and they had been removed before takeoff. I fly with Ryan air many times a year but if this is an example of on board safety I will certainly consider safer options!
