AirBaltic on Social Media

If you’re ever in the midst of a sudden flight cancellation or delay and you can’t get through by phone, you can usually get a rapid response by writing to airBaltic on their social media channels.

Contact airBaltic on Twitter/X, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.

AirBaltic Passenger Complaints

Not surprisingly, most passengers complain about delays, cancellations, overbooked flights, and other interruptions. Fortunately, if you are departing from an airport in Europe, you could get as much as €600 for flights delayed by at least 3 hours. Even though airBaltic is a small airline, they still must comply with these rules.

Another law that they must adhere to are those described in the Montreal Convention, requiring airlines to pay passengers up to €1,599 for mishandled baggage.

How to Submit a Successful Complaint

Submitting your complaint as soon as possible is crucial if you want a favourable outcome. Plus, writing to airBaltic as soon as you get home means the details will still be fresh in your mind.

Get all your documents and travel information in order before you begin. It’s best to gather information about your flight including travel documents, booking numbers, and boarding passes and anything else pertaining to the issue at hand. The more specifics you can provide, the better.

State your desired outcome clearly, and explain why you feel the way you do. You can also add that you’re familiar with Regulation EU261, protecting your passenger rights.

Lastly, make sure you include your current contact details. Better yet, give them two ways to get in touch with you. And if you need assistance with a compensation claim, remember - AirAdvisor can help.

arrived at 23:00 about No communication with airlines we had to go and find out what was going on We could not visit with family and we had to buy our own food and find a place to be for hours. We missed our ride and had to take a taxi once at our destination

We arrived in Zurich, ran to the gate, noticed there was a gate change, ran there. Arrived at our gate and all of a sudden the flight was cancelled when we should have been boarding. Then absolutely no information provided. No choices, not told where to go and what to do. Finally we figured it out about an hour later from others at the airport. Horrible way to be treated. We finally arrived at our final destination at 11:30 pm when we were due to arrive at 2pm The airline told us nothing. We did get rebooked for the 7:20 flight which was then delayed to the 9pm flight. This was a nightmare. We missed time with family, we basically lost a day because we arrived so late and then we lost part of the morning. We had to fend for ourselves with meals. We did get a 20 voucher which was basically enough for 2 coffee and a muffin. We could only use it in certain places and we ended up eating closest to where we all the gates intersected so we would not have to go too far with all of our bags.

I missed the connecting flight and due that I’ve arrived to the final destination only after 24 hours from the expected date and time. Airline company provided me a taxi to the hotel, hotel, taxi from the hotel to the airport and replaced the flight. Also, I’ve received 20€ voucher for the airport cafe, but I had to spend an extra day in Riga, as they were not able to provide me any other option. Also, I had to spend money for food and other things during the day as the check out from the hotel was at 12:00 day time and the flight was scheduled to 23:25 (was delayed and actual departure time was 23:50), so I had about 10 hours “homeless”.

Problems at airport

Sep 10, 2024
They paid me 900 euros for 3 tickets, But I have to reschedule my trip back to Tel Aviv including canceling my hotel in Riga. And ordering 6 tickets via another airline + 2 hotels in Athens. The overall cost of tickets in one way is 1600 EURO. The overall cost of hotels is 250 EURO. So I spent 1850 EURO on my trip back while Air Baltic paid me only 900 EURO.

Technical problems

Aug 29, 2024
Our flight scheduled departure was at 8:55 on 18th August 2024. Our flight was delayed and boarding started at 18:20. There was some technical issue with the plane, so we were waiting for another plane to arrive. We were offered vouchers and got only 2 small pizzas and one in size of 0,5 l water bottle for each passenger. We were not offered any free meals and refreshments after and neither on the plane.

My flight BT772 from Tel Aviv to Riga was delayed by 4 hours. Original arrival 17:55. Final: about 22:00. I couldn't get my car because of late hours. And had to stay at Riga hotel with 2 kids (10 and 13) that was available at that moment (130 EU hotel + 30 EU ride). My final destination was Ventspils. I was planning to get there by 22:00. Because of late hours, may car reservation couldn't proceed due to technical issue that couldn't be handled at early hours. Next day my relatives had to pick me up from Riga. My car reservation was also canceled.
