Dear Respected Customer Service Team, I am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding the disruption I experienced during my travel on January 12, 2025, under booking reference E9YREZ. My itinerary included a domestic code-share flight from Bangalore (BLR) to Mumbai (BOM) operated by Indigo Airlines, followed by international flights from Mumbai to London (LHR) and London to Detroit (DTW) with Virgin Atlantic. Upon reaching Bangalore airport on January 12, 2025, I was informed by Indigo Airlines that my reservation for the BLR to BOM flight had been canceled due to non-payment by Virgin Atlantic. This was despite the flight itself being operative. To my dismay, I was not informed of this cancellation by Virgin Atlantic in advance. As a result, I was unable to board the domestic flight from Bangalore to Mumbai, which subsequently caused me to miss my connecting international flights. I attempted to contact Virgin Atlantic customer service multiple times over the following 24 hours but could not reach anyone for assistance. Given the urgency of my situation and lack of support, I had to purchase a new ticket for travel on January 14, 2025, through Virgin Atlantic (booking reference EPJZ6B) at an additional cost of $1,287.04 (1259.17 Euro). This incident caused significant disruption and led to additional costs, including: $210 for an extra night’s hotel stay in Bangalore. $180 for taxi fares to and from Bangalore airport on January 12. $600 loss of pay for two days missed at work. The total additional expense due to this issue amounts to $2,277.04. I kindly request Virgin Atlantic to: Refund the full amount for my unused January 12, 2025, itinerary (booking reference E9YREZ). Reimburse the new flight purchase cost (1259.17 Euro - purchase ticket receipt attached) and additional costs incurred (Hotel, Food and transportation) as listed above. This experience has caused significant inconvenience and financial loss, and I trust the customer service team will take immediate steps to resolve this matter and provide the necessary compensation. I look forward to your response at the earliest. Thank you for your attention. Sincerely, Purush Marakada mpurushothama@yahoo.com

Influence by other flights

I was flying from Phuket - Aberdeen. I arrived in Mumbai with no problems but we were delayed 4 hours from when we were supposed to initially arrive but that was communicated on the day before. In Mumbai, all the people travelling to instanbul were told to sit in a small room for around 3 hours before we found out OURSELVES, on our phones that our flight is delayed a further 3 hours. With Indigo staff right there and being very unhelpful, telling them I will now not be able to make my Amsterdam flight in Istanbul they simply told me “its not their problem” and that “i can sleep on the floor”. In absolute rage I went through check in and was on the phone to my mum breaking down the whole time in Mumbai as not only was the situation horrible the people made it so much worse. We eventually get onto the flight around 1pm, we were scheduled to depart at 930am and didn’t leave till around 2pm. We arrive in Istanbul and I have missed 2 flights, so to get back home I had to book a flight to London in hopes of making it to Aberdeen the next morning. However in London all flights to aberdeen were cancelled (Not Indigos Fault, but I would’ve already been home if not for the 8 hour delay or whatever it was.) We were originally supposed to leave at 5:55am and didn’t leave until 2pm. I didn’t arrive in Aberdeen until Saturday the 25th of January, bearing in mind my journey began on the morning of the 23rd. In addition. The people at Indigo in Mumbai were some of the most unhelpful and unkind people I have ever met. Continually telling me that it is not their problem, and that i can sleep in the airport. Didn’t offer to sort me a flight home, a hotel or nothing? They were absolutely horrible people and they should be investigated and never work at places where they need to help people ever again. Due to the incompetence of Indigo I lost around €400 and probably about 5 years of my life in stress.
