If you’ve had an unpleasant experience with Kenya Airways, the last thing you want to deal with is looking for their contact info in order to file a complaint. Still, you know it must be done.

What Should You Complain About? 

When you’ve had a less-than-enjoyable experience, it’s always worth mentioning it to the airline. But it’s important to understand that some situations are more likely to result in compensation than others.

  • Flight delays: Depending on the specifics of your flight, you could be entitled to a maximum of £520 (€600) in flight delay compensation provided your trip began at an EU or UK airport. 
  • Cancelled flights: When Kenya Airways cancels a flight without adequate notice, you could also be compensated similar to that of flight delays.
  • Lost or damaged baggage: Should Kenya Airways lose or damage your luggage, you could be entitled to as much as £1,300 (€1,700) depending on your specific route.
  • Denied boarding: Suppose that Kenya Airways oversold a flight and you, as a ticketed passenger, were bumped as a result. If this happens, you could be in line for as much as £520 (€600) in compensation.
  • Poor experiences: If you’re dissatisfied with any aspect of your Kenya Airways experience, it’s always worth filing a complaint. You may get vouchers or other discounts for your trouble. 

Your Passenger Rights in Europe and the UK 

Even though Kenya Airways isn’t located in the UK or Europe, as an airline, they are still compelled to follow the rules and regulations whenever they depart from an airport in these regions. The specific regulations they must comply with is Regulation EU 261 and Regulation UK 261

So, whenever you experience flight delays of at least 3 hours or you’re given notice of a cancellation less than 14 days before your flight, you can lodge a complaint with Kenya Airways.

  4. Tell them what you want. It’s best to be polite but direct. Tell them that you are aware of your passenger rights and what you expect. If you’ve had flight interruptions, don’t hesitate to follow the passenger rights regulations we mentioned earlier.

in flight entertainment not working on 2 flights

Booking reservation no KVIUC. we had booked seat at row 11 or 12 I believe . outbound 17 09 24 no sound at one of the seats. complained. Fault at seat connection was advised. nothing could be done. on return leg 02 10 24 in same seats, the other seat sound failed! again nothing could be done. very disappointed particularly on return flight was delayed at Heathrow for 60min plus.
Preferred solution: at very least a response.

Good day, We would hereby file a complaint regarding my director took a recent flight to Nairobi on the 15 September 2024. My director which was Seated in 34C was right next to someone who was being deported from the UK (a career prisoner) back to Somalia via Kenya. It was very scary and very chaotic – they did not pre warn her (nor other passengers) that there was an extremely volatile person on the flight. Right at the back of the plane where she was seated. He was abusive, cursing nonstop, racist language, c word, you name it. Not directed at her of course but directed at the 7 bodyguards that were accompanying him. He kept saying there was a bomb on the plane, that he would kill everyone, that he could take down these 7 officers if he wanted to. This has been a very traumatic experience for her. Being a regular flyer, this has resulted in her refusing to fly on your airlines again. Your carrier was not very professional allowing her to move to another seat or advising prior that she would be sitting near a criminal and offering other options.

I had booked to fly on 15th September from JKIA to JERSEY Airport in the UK only to be informed while checking in that there is no seat for me in the flight. The attendant booked me for 17th September and booked me in a hotel for the two days. I was given a voucher for compensation but to date nothing has happened. I lost days of work due to that. Please let me know what is going on with the compensation.

I left London 6:15 am to Paris therefore up 2 am arriving 3:15 am, then connecting flight constantly delayed eventually leaving 18.30 arriving in Nairobi the next day at 4 am 12th August. There was no Kenyan Airways support in Paris in the transfer area. No French official could offer any of this support they said go to Kenyan Airways which meant going through immigration. No information was given why the flight delayed. I searched for food vouchers - none. Could not buy lunch therefore no receipts. I missed a day's work

Flight Mombasa to Nairobi: on time Flight Nairobi to Amsterdam: cancelled and delayed to the following day at 7 am, then delayed again to 11.30am and only departed at 2.30pm and arrived at 10pm. Flight Amsterdam to Brussels: I missed this connection flight as it was scheduled for 9.20pm and hence my parents picked me up at Amsterdam Airport even though we live in Brussels.
