TAROM Complaints: Contact Information, Advice, Steps

What do you do when you’ve had a bad experience with TAROM? Many travellers don’t realise that they can voice their dissatisfaction to the airline. Others don’t think complaining will make a difference. Here, we’ll give you TAROM’s contact information and explain what you can do to get compensated for your trouble.

What Can You Complain About?

Anything you want! But certainly, some issues are more complaint-worthy than others. For example, if you’ve been on the receiving end of a rude airline employee, if the cabin was dirty, or if you had a broken or uncomfortable seat, then you should definitely write to TAROM to let them know.

Other complaints, especially ones related to flight disruptions like delays and cancellations, have a better chance of resulting in a compensation payout.

If your flight was delayed, canceled or overbooked within the last 3 years, you could be eligible for up to €600 in compensation.Check Your Flight

TAROM Passenger Rights

As an airline in the European Union, TAROM must comply with Regulation EU261. It states, among other things, that airlines must pay you between €250 and €600 (£220 to £520) for any flight disruption lasting 3 or more hours.

The Montreal Convention also protects your passenger right, particularly for mishandled baggage. These rules require airlines to compensate you for as much as €1,600 (£1,100) for lost, damaged or delayed luggage.

Pro Tips for a Successful Outcome

Remember these tips because they can help you get a more favourable outcome!

  1. Step:Act quickly! You have to prove your side of the situation and show why you deserve to be compensated. This means you’ll have to add as many details as possible. So the earlier you send your complaint, the more clear the details will be.
  2. Step: Add supporting documents. Add receipts, photos, travel documents and anything that can support your complaint.
  3. Step:Verify your contact information, and give TAROM more than one way to get in touch with you.
  4. Step:Explain your expectations. Tell the airline what you hope to get for your bad experience but remember to be polite.

The flight was delayed more than 3 hours. I received a text message at 06:48 am from Tarom, saying that the new scheduled time is 11 am. However at 11 am we were still boarding. Departure time was around 11: 37 am, I texted my family that we are going to fly at 11: 37 am. I arrived around 3.25 pm Dutch time. I should arrive at 10:40 am. So that is a delay for more than 4 hours. We got a sandwich and sparkling water, but unfortunately not the reason about the delay, I assumed it's the weather circumstances.

We booked the flight with KLM and found out that was operated by TAROM. Our two carry on were less than 12 Kg, but TAROM wouldn't allow more than 8 Kg each. We wrapped them both, to pay only one for cargo and paid 75 euro. Because of delay, our luggage arrived in Lisboa with the original flight and we had a hard time to find them, since the flight was not listed any more. There were left on the conveyor unassisted with the risk to loose everything.

I was scheduled to travel from Amsterdam (AMS) to Beirut (BEY) on 28–29 December, with a layover in Bucharest (OTP). Due to a significant delay on Flight Tarom 364 from Amsterdam to Bucharest, I missed my connecting flight, Tarom 167, to Beirut. Consequently, I was stranded in the airport until 2:50 a.m. without any proper support or guidance. In addition, I was charged 100 EUR for extra baggage weight at Amsterdam Airport, despite explaining that I needed to keep my backpack light because of a fracture in my spine. This charge was unfair and added further stress to an already difficult situation. Here are my flight details: • Amsterdam to Bucharest: • Flight Number: Tarom 364 • Departure: Sat, 28 Dec, 19:45 • Arrival: Sat, 28 Dec, 23:30 (original schedule) • Bucharest to Beirut: • Flight Number: Tarom 167 • Departure: Sun, 29 Dec, 00:50 The airline confirmation code for my booking is ME7AJB. I kindly request your immediate assistance with the following: 1. Rebooking my flight to Beirut or providing alternative arrangements. 2. Addressing the unfair 100 EUR baggage charge. 3. Clarifying any compensation or refund policies for the inconvenience caused. This experience has been extremely unprofessional. Tarom is Not answering their calls. I will try again tomorrow

I booked this flight with Tarom from Athens International Airport 'Eleftherios Venizelos' to Bucharest Henri Coandă International Airport. The flight number is RRO274. Originally, it was scheduled to depart at 19:10 on 18/12/2024 and arrive at 23:30. However, it was first delayed to 21:55, with the arrival time remaining at 23:30. While waiting at Athens Airport, there was another delay, pushing the departure time to 22:30. These delays have significantly disrupted my schedule.
