What do you do when you’ve had a bad experience with TAROM? Many travellers don’t realise that they can voice their dissatisfaction to the airline. What Can You Complain About?

Anything you want! But certainly, some issues are more complaint-worthy than others. For example, if you’ve been on the receiving end of a rude airline employee, if the cabin was dirty, or if you had a broken or uncomfortable seat, then you should definitely write to TAROM to let them know. 

Other complaints, especially ones related to flight disruptions like delays and cancellations, have a better chance of resulting in a compensation payout.

TAROM Passenger Rights

As an airline in the European Union, TAROM must comply with Regulation EU261. It states, among other things, that airlines must pay you between €250 and €600 (£220 to £520) for any flight disruption lasting 3 or more hours. 

The Montreal Convention also protects your passenger right, particularly for mishandled baggage. These rules require airlines to compensate you for as much as €1,600 (£1,100) for lost, damaged or delayed luggage.

  1. Step:Act quickly! You have to prove your side of the situation and show why you deserve to be compensated. This means you’ll have to add as many details as possible. So the earlier you send your complaint, the more clear the details will be.

Nobody answered after many follow-ups. The airline did not provide a reason for the flight delay. We touched down in Istanbul right at midnight. I received an automated mail from the airplane company and have had no answer until now, after 4 months.

Flight was cancelled. I was offered flight RO 809 at the same day in the evening, which I used. I also got a hotel and dinner. Later I submitted a compensation form on their website (response attached), but didn't get any answer..

We had a cancellation email the night before. Contacted the Tarom airline but said that they could not find another flight for us for the same day. They offered to rebook but it was two days after the original flight date. No help was given to us at all and had to find another way to get to OTP on our own. Submitted claims in their website but until now, we have not heard from Tarom at all (5months later). We submitted the form that Tarom provided with all of the flight details along with extra cost that we spent after the cancellation. We also sent a follow up email directly to customer relations with detailed information (see attached file), still no response from the airline. The phone number does not work and no 800 number was provided.

the cancellation of our flight on 28/08/2024, just one hour before departure, without no reason.At the Tarom counter in Chișinău, we received no information or alternative travel options, despite having a connecting flight at 18:40 to Heraklion. The representative was rude and unprofessional, offering no assistance. Due to Tarom’s lack of support, we had to take a taxi to Bucharest, costing €450, to not loose the flight to Heraklion,which I request Tarom to reimburse.
