You’re here because you’ve had a Flynas flight that was delayed or cancelled, and now you’re wondering what to do, right? You might even be wondering if you can get compensation or a refund from the airline, and how your rights differ depending on where you’re flying.

As a Saudi Arabian airline, Flynas follows the rules of the country’s General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) on domestic flights. For international flights, they must adhere to the rules of the country of departure. So, keep reading because we’ll explain how these laws affect your rights as a passenger and how much compensation you can get for cancelled and delayed flights.

What is the Policy for Flynas Delayed Flights?

Flynas policy for delayed flights depends on where you’re travelling.

Flynas Domestic Flight Delays

Generally, Flynas does not offer cash compensation for flight delays unless:

  • You had a lengthy delay of 6 hours or more that the airline could have prevented, and
  • You were not provided care and assistance.

If your flight is delayed for 6+ hours, they will offer you a refund or a new flight to your destination.

If you end up booking an alternate flight yourself, they will refund the unused parts of your ticket. Flynas will also compensate you 100% of your ticket value and offer care and assistance if you have to wait at the airport, as you can see in the following table.

Length of Delay

Compensation

1 hour or more

Snacks and refreshments

3+ hour delays

A complementary meal

6+ hour delays

Hotel lodging, if needed as well as transport, meals and help with communication.

Flynas Flights Departing from Europe or the UK

When departing the UK or the EU with Flynas, you’re afforded the rights from regulations UK261 and EU261 when the flight delay is considered preventable by the airline.

Here’s a summary of what to expect:

  • If your flight arrives 3+ hours late and Flynas is to blame, you could get as much as £520 (€600), based on the distance you travelled.
  • Care and assistance, including meals for delays of 2+ hours and hotel lodging and transport for overnight delays.
  • For delays that last 5+ hours, Flynas must offer a flight refund or a new flight to your destination.

Compensation for Flynas Cancelled Flights

What you get from the airline for cancelled flights depends entirely on your place of departure. Let's look!

Cancelled Domestic Flynas Flights

You’ll be notified by Flynas if your flight has been cancelled. What you receive from the airline is based on how soon you’re notified. Financial compensation will not be possible if extraordinary circumstances, like dangerous weather or an airport strike, caused the cancellation, but you will still get help while you wait at the airport.

Flynas Cancelled Flight Compensation

When You Were Notified

You're Entitled to . . .

7+ days before departure

A flight refund and 100% compensation of the unused part of your booking

7-24 hours before departure

An alternate flight or a refund

Less than 24 hours before departure

A refund and 100% compensation only if you aren’t given an alternate booking within 6 hours. You will also get care and assistance at the airport.

Cancelled Flynas Flights from the EU or UK

If you are notified that your flight has been cancelled less than 14 days before your flight, then Flynas must give you:

  • An alternate flight or a full ticket refund
  • Care and assistance at the airport, including meals and hotel accommodation if necessary
  • Cash compensation up to £520 (€600) based on flight distance, if Flynas is to blame for the cancellation.

Take These Steps if Flynas Cancels Your Flight

  1. Rebook your travel ASAP. All the other passengers on the cancelled flight will need to do the same thing, so space will be at a premium.
  2. Decide whether the rebooked flight is suitable and if not, ask for a full refund.
  3. Get the reason for the cancellation in writing to use later as part of your compensation claim.
  4. Ask for food, drinks, and a hotel room if you have an overnight wait.
  5. Find out if your flight is eligible for Flynas flight cancellation compensation, keep all your receipts and documents, and file a claim as soon as you get home.

Missed Connections with Flynas

If you miss a connecting flight, Flynas has an obligation to get you to your destination by providing an alternate flight whether or not they are to blame.

If you miss a Flyness connection departing the UK or EU, you can also get a rebooking. You can also get cash compensation whenever an avoidable delay or cancellation causes you to miss your next flight and arrive more than 3 hours late. In this case, you’ll get up to £520, depending on the flight distance.

You will also be provided with food and refreshment if you have to wait more than 2 hours for your new departure time.

How to Submit a Flynas Flight Delay or Cancellation Compensation Claim

Even though our experts are able to help you file a successful Flynas flight delay compensation claim, we understand that you might want to do it on your own. If so, here are the steps you should take for disruptions on routes from the UK and EU:

  1. First, check to see if your flight is eligible for compensation. You can do this by using a compensation calculator
  2. Next, gather your flight and travel documents as well as any communication you’ve had with Flynas. You’ll also need receipts for any expenses you had because of your flight disruption.
  3. Draft a letter explaining what happened and why you are seeking flight compensation. If you need help you can use this compensation letter template.
  4. Then, upload all your supporting documents, and send your letter to CSU@Flynas.com.

Once you send it, all you have to do is wait. It can take a week or so to hear back from Flynas and up to a month or more to get a decision about your compensation request.

As always, our experts at AirAdvisor are always here to help with your claim.Check Your Flight
