What happens when you have a flight with Condor that gets delayed or cancelled? What if you miss a connecting flight? If you fly with this airline, your rights are protected by EU and UK law. This means that you are entitled to replacement flights, care at the airport, and even compensation, depending on the circumstances. In this guide, we’ll explain it all.
TL;DR
- If your Condor flight is delayed or cancelled, you may be entitled to compensation between £220 and £520 (250-600 EUR) (per passenger) if you arrive more than 3 hours late and the airline is responsible for the disruption.
- You’re also owed food, refreshments, plus hotel accommodation and transport during long airport waits based on the time you’re waiting and the distance of your flight.
- For delays lasting 5+ hours, you’re entitled to a refund or rerouting.
- You may also receive compensation if Condor cancels your flight within 14 days of departure and the cause is within their control, such as a staffing shortage or technical problems.
- Missed connections are also covered when all flights are on the same booking and you arrive 3+ hours late at your destination.
- If Condor fails to respond to your claim or if it’s rejected, you can escalate the matter to the Civil Aviation Authority or let AirAdvisor handle the process for you.
Which Passenger Rights Apply When You Fly with Condor?
You are fully protected under UK261, the United Kingdom’s air-passenger rights law when you depart from an airport in the UK, but you are also protected by the EU’s passenger rights Regulation EU261.
If Your Condor Flight is Delayed
If your fight is delayed, you’ll get compensation from Condor if:
- Your flight arrives at least 3 hours late at your destination, and
- Condor is responsible for the delay, and it was not caused by extraordinary circumstances like civil unrest or severe weather.
The actual amount you end up receiving is calculated based on the distance of your flight as you can see below:
- Flights less than 1,500km = Up to £220
- Flights from 1,500 to 3,500km = Up to £350
- Flights over 3,500km = Up to £520
If Your Delays Lasts 5+ Hours
For flight delays of 5 hours or more, you’re entitled to a rebooking or a refund. However, if you decide to continue with your original flight, you can claim compensation based on the distance of your journey, provided the disruption was within Condor’s control.
Condor’s Duty of Care
If your flight is delayed, and you have to wait at the airport for at least 2 hours, the airline must assist you. This means you’re entitled to food and refreshments, as well as access to free communication services like 2 phone calls or emails.
If the delay lasts overnight, Condor must arrange hotel lodging and transport between the airport and the hotel.
You’re entitled to care and assistance no matter what caused the delay or cancellation.
When will you get help at the airport?
The distance of your flight determines how much time you have to wait before Condor must provide duty of care as you can see below:
- For flights shorter than 1,500 km, assistance begins after a 2-hour delay.
- For distances between 1,500 and 3,500 km, assistance begins after 3 hours.
- For flights over 3,500 km, assistance begins after 4 hours.

If Condor Cancels Your Flight
If Condor cancels your flight, you have the choice of a refund or a rebooking at no additional cost, even if the cancellation was caused by extraordinary circumstances.
If you accept a rebooking, and you are re-routed to a different arrival airport from the one you originally planned, the airline must pay for transport to your original arrival airport.
You’re also owed care and assistance if you’re forced to wait at the airport more than 2 hours. (See the care and assistance information listed above in the delays section.)
Compensation for Cancelled Flights
Cancelled flight compensation applies to your situation if:
- Condor cancels your flight within 14 days of departure, and
- The cause is within their control
How Much Can You Get?
If Condor cancels your flight within 14 days of departure for a controllable reason like a technical issue, and you choose a refund instead of a rebooking, you will be compensated based on the distance of your flight. The amounts are the same as for delays.
If you accept a rerouting, the amount of compensation you get depends on how late you arrive at your final destination and the flight distance, as you can see in the following table.
You can also use a compensation calculator to see how much you could get from Condor for cancellations.
Cancelled Flight Compensation if You Choose a Rebooking from Condor
Flight Distance | Length of Delay | Compensation |
Less than 1,500 km | Arrives less than 2 hours at final destination | £110 (€125) |
Arrives more than 2 hours at final destination | £220 (€250)
Flights 1,500-3,500 km | Departs 2+ hours earlier than original flight and lands less than 3 hours later than original flight (at final destination) | £175 (€200) |
Departs more than 2 hours before your original flight and arrives 3+ hours later | £350 (€400)
Flights over 3,500 km | Departs less than 1 hour earlier than your original flight and arrives at your final destination under 4 hours from original flight | £260 (€300) |
Arrives at final destination 4+ hours later than original flight | £520 (€600)
What if You’re Denied Boarding
Denied boarding is rare, but if Condor bumps you from your flight because it was overbooked, you’re owed:
- A seat on the next available flight, or
- A refund if you decide not to continue with your trip, and
- Compensation based on the distance of your flight
Missed Connections with Condor
If you miss your connecting flight and all legs of your trip are on the same booking, you’re also entitled to a rebooking to your destination or a refund. You can also make a claim for compensation if the airline is at fault for the initial disruption, and you arrive 3 or more hours late at your final stop.
EU261 looks at your entire journey, not each leg on its own. If a delay on your first Condor flight causes you to miss a connection and you reach your final destination more than three hours late, you can often claim compensation as long as the disruption was within the airline’s control. - Anton Radchenko, Esq., Aviation Lawyer
What to Do as Soon as Your Condor Flight is Delayed or Cancelled
If you have a flight disruption, there are several steps you should take:
- Talk to a Condor agent and ask what caused the flight disruption. Knowing the cause of the cancellation or delay will help with the claims process and give you a better idea about the eligibility of your flight
- Make sure you keep track of all relevant travel documentation, from boarding passes to written confirmations of the disruption and photos of the delay notification. All this serves as evidence and will help support your claim if you file one.
- Ask for care and assistance if you face a long airport delay, and if you have to buy essentials, collect all the receipts for reimbursement.
- Use a compensation calculator to see if your flight is eligible for compensation.

What to Avoid
Vouchers: Many airlines, Condor included, may offer you a travel voucher. The voucher represents a financial value that you can use towards future travel or services. It might seem just as good as cash compensation, but the voucher probably has limitations, like short expiry dates and locational restrictions. Also if you accept it, it could eliminate your eligibility for further compensation.
Signing agreements without reading the details: This might sound like common sense, but signing agreements without fully understanding what you're agreeing to can lead to a less-than-satisfactory compensation payout. So, make sure you understand what you're signing.
How to File a Compensation Claim with Condor
Even if you’re eligible, compensation and refunds are not automatic. You need to complete the appropriate online claim form for your situation first. Here’s what to do:
- Gather your boarding pass, booking confirmation, proof of delay or cancellation and receipts for any additional expenses. Then, go to the Condor website and look for the claim form.
- Include as many details as possible about what happened with your cancellation or delay, and upload all your supporting documents.
- Once you submit your claim, you might need to follow up with the airline. Otherwise, you can expect your claim to be processed in several weeks or months depending on the complexity of your case.
How much time do you have to file a compensation claim with Condor?
Claim deadlines vary by location. Passengers in England and Wales have 6 years to file a claim, while those in Scotland have 5.
What if Condor ignores or denies my claim?
If Condor does not respond to your claim, or if they reject it, and you feel the reason is unfair, you can escalate the matter to the Civil Aviation Authority or let AirAdvisor handle the process for you.
How Condor Compensation Cases Work in Practice
Condor flight disruptions often leave passengers dealing with long delays, missed connections and unexpected costs. These real AirAdvisor cases show how our team steps in, reconstructs the disruption and fights for the maximum payout.
Case #1: Frankfurt to Palma de Mallorca: Long Delay and €250/£220 Compensation Secured
Issue: Flight delay
Total received: €250/£220 compensation
What happened: Cristina was flying from Frankfurt to Palma de Mallorca when her Condor flight was significantly delayed. Like many passengers, she received limited communication and had no idea whether she qualified for compensation.
What AirAdvisor did: AirAdvisor analysed the arrival delay and confirmed that the disruption exceeded the EU261 threshold of 3 hours. After verifying that the cause fell under Condor’s responsibility, our team prepared a full claim and handled all correspondence directly with the airline.
Outcome: Cristina received €250/£220 in compensation, the standard amount for a short-haul delay of more than 3 hours. AirAdvisor managed the entire process, ensuring she received the full payout she was entitled to.
Case #2: Frankfurt to Tenerife: Missed Connection and €400/£350 Compensation Awarded
Issue: Delay resulting in a missed connection
Total received: €400/£350 compensation
What happened: Several Condor passengers travelling from Frankfurt to Tenerife reported long delays that caused them to miss onward travel arrangements. In these cases, Condor offered limited assistance at the airport and passengers were left unsure whether they qualified for compensation for the disruption to their holidays and additional costs.
What AirAdvisor did: AirAdvisor reconstructed the full timeline of events, including scheduled and actual arrival times, and demonstrated that the delay exceeded the EU261 limit. After confirming the disruption was within Condor’s control, our team submitted the claim on the passenger’s behalf and escalated it through the appropriate channels.
Outcome: AirAdvisor secured €400/£350 in compensation, reflecting the medium-haul distance of the disrupted route. With our intervention, the passenger received the full financial remedy available under EU261, something that would have been difficult to obtain directly from the airline.

People Also Asked
Does Condor have to compensate me if my flight is delayed due to a late incoming aircraft from another country?
Maybe. If the incoming aircraft delay was caused by Condor’s own operations, compensation may apply. If the delay results from extraordinary circumstances elsewhere (for example severe weather at the previous airport), compensation may not be a possibility, but duty of care still applies while you wait.
What happens if Condor changes my flight to a much earlier or much later departure time?
If Condor significantly shifts your departure time without cancelling the flight, you may be entitled to a refund or rerouting. Significant schedule changes can also lead to compensation if they create a 3+ hour delay in your final arrival time.
Can I claim compensation if Condor splits my travelling group onto separate flights after a cancellation?
Yes. If a cancellation forces your group to travel on different flights and you arrive 3+ hours later than originally scheduled, each passenger may be entitled to compensation. Condor must also cover hotel and transport if the rebooking requires an overnight stay.
Does Condor owe me compensation if my flight is operated on behalf of another carrier (wet lease)?
It depends on the operating carrier. Under EU261, compensation must be claimed from the airline that physically operated the aircraft. So, if you were departing from an EU or UK airport with any airline or arriving in these regions on an EU or UK airline, then you could be owed compensation.
