About Your Rights as a Passenger

Whenever you depart from an airport in the UK or EU, you’ll be protected by Regulation EC 261/2004. This set of rules was introduced in 2004 and safeguards passengers against delays, cancellations, and other flight interruptions.

Can You Get Compensation from Blue Islands?

You can get compensated by Blue Islands for delays and cancellations as well as for denied boarding and missed connections. The amount of compensation you receive from Blue Islands depends on:

  • The duration of your delay 
  • The distance of your flight 

As long as you arrive 3 or more hours late and Blue Islands is culpable for the issue causing the interruption, you will get as much as £520 (€600), as you can see in the following table.

Blue Islands Cancelled Flights

You’re entitled to a refund or an alternate flight without any add on fees. Cash compensation is also possible depending on when you received notice about the cancellation.

If Blue Islands informed you of the cancelled flight more than 2 weeks before your scheduled departure time, you won’t get compensated, but if they cancelled your flight less than 2 weeks before departure, you will be eligible for compensation as long as the airline is to blame.
